I'M ALIVE!!!! i actually had power through the whole storm, and then the fuckers shut us down for 2 days. the problem wasn't electricity. it was comcast. they're STILL down and no word on when they'll be up. i talked to a guy in a comcast truck and he said if you've got power and no cable, you're fucked. so i'm now with AT&T and bless them for speeding it up so i could get back online. the storm SUCKED. very scary. my big oak is standing but lost a lot of limbs, which are all stacked neatly at the curb awaiting pickup sometime next year, i'm sure. but everyone has a 'stack.' like millions of us have stacks! i lost one entire side of my fence but i already got a new one up----nice cedar, set in concrete and my neighbor's paying for half, thank God. i had a little roof damage and some sheetrock i'm having fixed, but hey, i can't complain. i have a friend who lost her whole townhouse---roof ripped off, second story collapsed, everything was wet and broken. she's a real victim---i came through great compared to her. it will be many months before things look halfway normal around here. i actually DID see the finale of BB and i loved it. see? you can piss a lot of people off and if you can justify it as playing the game, you CAN and WILL win. good for dan. i can't wait to read everything and see how the wrap party went, etc. but i wanted to get in here right away and thank everyone who was thinking about me and worrying. other than never wanting to go through another hurricane, having a new appreciation for electricity and water and also a pretty upbeat outlook on humanity in general from watching my city recover, i am FINE!!!!!

i will. it will take awhile to look through everything. i'll probably be up all night reading!
