It's an excellent companion piece, and I'm a little ashamed that I hadn't seen it already. Sadly, I can still remember a day when I was too afraid to rent this from my local video store for fear that people would think I was gay. I could have used a little of Harvey's strength and courage back then, and I hope anybody today who sees either of these films can carry away the message of hope, and not the fact Milk was gunned down in cold blood. Though I have to admit, my lizard brain fears for another history-making politician who has broken barriers and ascended to office on a message of hope.

When afro-scott-franco and lemonparty-milk-penn are in bed and Franco says "youre 40 now, if you keep eating that cake youll be fat by the time your 50", Penn responds "If I make it to 50..." or summat. Then in the " flashback" scene its like " youll be a fat-ass when youre 50" and penn responds "Ill never make it to 50" Im sure its meant to be symbolic or some shit but it just doesnt make any sense.
