If McCain is what the country needs, why was he not elected 8 years ago?

From a technical point of view the first half of Palin's speech was pretty good and carried some momentum. The second half dragged a bit, although I think
it's mostly because the audience had a very odd sense of timing. I think that odd timing might have been brought on by Juliani (sp?) during his speech, bad
acoustics, or poor monitor speaker placement. I guess all the good Hollywood/band technicians and roadies probably worked on the Dem stage presentation and the
Republicans got the stage crew from the annual Chicago auto show.

The thing that bothered me most, and I was surprised at how much it bugged me, was the women that were all moved up front and were crying and
screaming...simply because she's a woman. They would not give this woman the time of DAY at the Country Club or at the Church social. They'd all be
talking about how trashy her kids names are, how horrible it is that her kid is pregnant and how she cheated on her husband. Republican or not they'd
blacklist her if she was not McCain's running mate. They don't want what's BEST for the country, they want to be the first party to put a woman in
the position.
And before Merkyl goes all rightwonky on me... I feel the same way about those who simply want Obama because he's a black man. |

1) Big red flag at the Republicans cavalier dismissal of constitutional rights. Cheering against Miranda - always heartwarming.
2) When Palin was talking about foreign policy she looked like she was seeing those words for the first time in her life. 3) The baby daddy looked like he was thinking "5 months ago I just wanted to knock boots with the governor's daughter and now I have to MARRY her?? fuck!" 3a) The stage hands forgot to tell the baby daddy not to chew gum on national television. 4) Cindy McCain is definitely at least part Romulan as evidenced by her wardrobe choices. |

2 questions for the OT mockingbirds:
1) name one thing Palin can do worse than George W. Bush (the one you called the worst President ever) 2) If Democratic voters overwhelmingly rejected Joe Biden as a candidate for President (time and time again), why does Obama think Biden is qualified for VP and potential President? |

And just to dispel any question about sexism in the Republican party, I call to your attention the number of wrinkly old white men who were wearing
"I'm voting for the Hot Chick" buttons at the convention.

WhooooHooooo.
Doesn't her husband looks like an older version of Joey Fatone? The big problem with this affair issue is that there is the rumor that Obama had done the same and Michelle threw a hissy fit in public. |
