Straight Talk = Shoot from the hip, damn whatever he said yesterday ...
From McCain, an erratic response to crisis. As Wall Street's roller-coaster week unfolded, John McCain's views on the economy went through about as many gyrations as the Dow Jones industrial average. Brace your neck for a quick recap. Monday: Speaking at a rally in Jacksonville, McCain declares that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong." Coming as the Dow plunges more than 500 points and Lehman Bros. goes belly up, this makes McCain sound somewhat out of touch. Tuesday: McCain explains that he meant to say American workers are fundamentally sound, and the economy itself is in "crisis." But, he adds, this crisis does not warrant bailing out insurance giant American International Group, which should be allowed to fail. McCain adviser Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO, unhelpfully opines that no one on either presidential ticket would be capable of running a company such as H-P. Wednesday: After the government takes over AIG, McCain says the rescue was regrettable, but unavoidable. Thursday: McCain, who over the years has described himself as a deregulator, recasts himself as a pro-regulation, anti-Wall Street populist. If he were president, he says, he'd fire Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox, a former Republican congressman confirmed by unanimous consent of the Senate in 2005. http://blogs.usatoday.com...08/09/from-mccain-an.html |

Lemme preview it for you.
Officiator: The next question is for Senator McCain. It wouldn't be a stretch to characterize your senate record as one of deregulation. In this time of economic crisis, many if not most of those involved in the economic sector see the primary cause of this collapse as being a lack of oversight and regulation of the market. How do you justify your current position as pro-regulation and accountability when you've got 20 years of voting that says you in fact support even more deregulation? McCain: POW! |

Officiator: The next question is for Senator McCain. Can you briefly describe your plans for the Iraq war.
McCain: Well, as you may not know I was a POW. I was inprisoned for years and prayed to Jesus to let me free. Because of Jesus we must go finish this war in Iraq and be prepared to go into Iran if necessary. BOMB NOW BOMB NOW. |

In 1989, Pastor Muthee banished witches anddemonsin Kenya. But his work was far from complete. In 2005, Pastor Muthee prayed over Sarah Palin and anointed her the next governor! In 2008, the planbecame complete: Alaska will be America's last refuge in the final days! |

Inspired by the grassroots movement created by Barack Obama's historic presidential run and his call for the change Americans need, artists supporting Barack Obama teamed up to create a new CD that taps into the campaign's universal themes of hope, unity and change. The disc, titled Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement, includes a collection of artists from across genres, including such renowned performers as Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and John Legend. Through their musical contributions, the artists seek to mobilize voters in the final stretch before the November election. Many of the artists involved will also be volunteering their time to promote voter registration. Yes We Can: Voices of Grassroots Movement (Download)

While Republican presidential candidate John McCain has had songs penned for him, such as "Lead the Way" by a lawyer named Judd Kessler, he has not inspired the same groundswell of musical support.
