You know it's unfeasible to teach medicine to every single patient -- and not because they have to "dumb it down." They may not teach anyone to be mean, but they sure as hell encourage it by framing it as "dumbing down" instead of "lack of knowledge of a particular area." The reasons we are taught to dumb it down is because not everybody is versed in medicine and biology and because there are many (not CBR) that are very uneducated. That's why we follow the KISS principle. I mean, a couple months ago when I mentioned a the splenic flexure of the large intestine and how I had pain there, people though I was being weird. To nurses/doctors that terminology isn't weird; to everyone else it is "tummy pain". They may not teach anyone to be mean, but they sure as hell encourage it by framing it as "dumbing down" instead of "lack of knowledge of a particular area." Dumbing down was my term. They frame it as a nursing dx like "Knowledge deficit r/t disease process manifested by incomplete understanding of pathophysiology of [disease]". interstitial density is present in the peripancreatic fat diverticulum in the proximal sigmoidal colon not exactly dumbing it down to a fifth grade level - maybe to a college level Right, when someone realizes your level of education or intelligence (and you know I think you are very intelligent), they'll teach to that level. I can see you lack inference skills though! We're drifting here. Let's get back to talking about how Palin shouldn't be running for office because she's a mother. I really really had fun during that part. She shouldn't be running because she has no federal experience and is a complete dumbass who can't even prevent her 17 year old daughter from getting knocked up. If she were pro-contraception like she says she is and not a failure as a parent and had a sex-positive attitude, she would have provided her daughter with birth control pills and condoms. Instead, her underage daughter will have a child well before she should be. She also only has a BA, and I am not comfortable with any POTUS or VP having just a BA. Have we had two lawyers on a ticket in recent history? Ever? Does the same question relate to Senators also? I was near the top of my high school graduating class in Chicago (public schools). Boy did I feel stupid when I got to college. I really had to work my fanny off to get all A's and B's. Got something like a D on my first math exam and realized I wasn't in Kansas anymore - I was in Urbana!

And the other thing you have to remember with "dumbing it down" for patients and their families is that you're dealing with them in a time of stress - you don't want to hammer them with jargon when they're out of their mind with worry. It's better to use the simplest terms they can understand so you don't add to their level of confusion.

So unless you buy something from a "business", like groceries clothes, or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small "business", don't worry … it's not going to affect you. They say they are not going to take any water out of your side of the bucket, just the "other" side of the bucket! That's their idea of tax reform.
