Courtney trying to chop a rope with a sword that weighed more than her was one of the funniest moments ever on Suckvivor.

And I have seen every season since Borneo. The cast wasnt all that great, strategy sucked, people played with their heads up their asses (Denise, James). This season was just mediocre at best. |

I felt that way about China the first time I watched it, but on re-watch I liked it a lot more. It was a really good location and they had some big
personalities. And it was like the early seasons; you cared about every boot. But yeah, strategically it could've been more interesting.

Plenty of reality shows have strategy in them but they fail because that is so boring to watch. What drives the show for me at least are the interactions of the people and the psychological view we get out of it. Drama doesnt hurt. Reguardless of how predictable a season is or isn't, it comes down to the interactions and the intrigue of the players for me. Interesting characters, edits and storylines are what define my term of entertainment. Strategy is only a side to the main course. |

Strategy wise, China sucked. Todd had everyone snowed so badly on that season it was ridiculous. The only people who played even somewhat strategically besides
him were Amanda (and she handed him the game), PG (who had a questionable social game), JR and Jamie. The rest didn't even really try to play, and I agree
with the earlier statement that post merge most people pretty much lined up like sheep to have their throats cut (Frosti, Erik, Denise, James).
However, the location was awesome and the cast was very entertaining and well developed IMO. So for those reasons, I think of China as one of the better seasons of the Survivor. If you like Survivor mostly for game play reasons, then it won't be the season for you. |

I didn't watch much China, but based on the clips from YouTube, Courtney was the star. |

She was definitely the star...one of the most memorables ever...if she hadn't declined Half ASS it could've been the perfect season...especially since
she was probably cast for Amanda's wasted spot...does she ever come around here any more tho?

I just finished watching China for the first time (I was really busy last year and only caught 3-4 episodes in the beginning) and I loved it! Despite all the
fighting between contestants, I think the whole cast was more likable compared to Gabon's. Courtney has replaced Eliza as my 2nd favourite Survivor (Cirie
will always be #1). I loved all her zingers, especially when she was dissing Jean Robert

Courtney made China a great season. Without her, we are left with Todd pretty much running circles around everyone with his strategic and social game and
Amanda sitting there with her ass blurred out. Courtney made that season great.

I don't know... I think most seasons, the strategy is pretty sub-par. Usually, it comes down to one or two big moves (if that many) and the rest of the season kind of follows suit. A shocking boot is great, but too many of them (Gabon) weeds out all the interesting people. I liked China not only because of the personalities, but because people genuinely wanted to win the game. Compare this to Gabon, where the finals consisted of Matty (the ultimate lack of strategy), Sugar (who's strategy was to get as much airtime as possible so she could launch her film career), Bob (who's strategy started and ended with fixing stuff), and Susie, perhaps the only player who made a major decision to further her chances at winning. At least Todd, Amanda and Courtney were all thinking about the game logically. |
