The tiebreaker went:

1) Drop the highest and the lowest deductions, calculate average deduction
2) Drop the next highest deduction, calculate average deduction

Basically, either the New Zealand judge or the Australian judge was the deciding factor between gold and silver. Drop the Australian judge's scores from both gymnasts and Nastia wins by something like 0.05 points without any tie breaker needed (I don't know the start value of both gymnasts routines, so I'm assuming a very difficult 7.6 based on the judges scores). Drop the New Zealand judge's scores and Nastia wins by 0.04 points after the tie breaker.

First that Chinese bitch lands on her knees on the vault and STILL scores higher than Alicia and now that shit happens to Nastia. Fuck that. If this isn't a clear sign of the judging being somewhat rigged and/or biased I don't know what is. I hope they're pleased with themselves stealing this shit with their underage gymnasts.

I thought this was discussed already. Alicia's vault had a difficulty level of 5.8 while the Chinese chick had 6.5. That's a 0.7 difference which is almost equivalent to a fall.

But that would also imply that fall was her only mistake in the vault. If I recall, the commentators noted that she made other mistakes that caused the fall - which makes sense to me. And even when a routine in any event even *seems* error-less, the judges still find some sort of deductions for execution when they don't have a blatant fall like that.

She did have other errors. Like when she put her hands on the horsething? One was far ahead of the other. They said that's a deduction and the reason why she fell, too, which I'm almost sure is a .8 deduction in itself. Dunno, though.
