hey y'all! i just saw the clip of jerry fallin' into the pool, and i just laughed and laughed. it reminded me of this time i was at my cousin norma's house, and i tripped into their pool. except their pool wasn't an inground pool, it was one of those blow-up ones. when i tripped and fell against it, i pulled the side down a bit and lots of water poured out and it made me fall again. jamie just laughed at me! he thinks his momma is silly. anyway, y'all, i remember norma making these great dessert treats that day. in fact, i think the taste of it is what made me trip because i wasn't lookin' where i was goin', y'all. i wanted to share these treats with y'all so you could enjoy these last few days of summer before the fall sets in. enjoy!

cousin norma's frozen butter pops

you will need:

- 1 12-count bag of popsicle sticks (try not to get confused and buy fingernail files like i did the first time i made these on my own, y'all)
- 1 can of planter's peanuts (salted)
- 5 eggs
- 12 sticks of butter (make sure you keep these in the fridge until you are ready to use them y'all)
- 1 small container of cake topping sprinkles


1. put the peanuts into a small plastic bag. seal it up and then use a rolling pin to roll over them until they are all crushed up, y'all
2. remove the sticks of butter from the fridge and lay them on a large serving tray, side by side
3. jam one popsicle stick into the end of each stick of butter
4. crack the eggs and put them all into a medium sized bowl
5. dip each stick of butter into the eggs
6. pour the smashed nuts onto the tabletop and then lightly roll each stick of butter in the nuts. the eggs will make the nuts stick y'all
7. just before eatin' these treats, sprinkle each butter pop with a pinch of cake sprinkles

that's it, y'all! easy and tasty! you might wanna make sure that you've got a napkin or beach towel nearby in case the butter pop melts while you're eatin' it. trust me, these things taste great and jaime loves 'em.
