I'm looking forward to the cast announcement. It's fun to predict their personalities (and success in the game) based on appearance and bios.
It's nice not knowing any boot spoilers, isn't it. :)

Once boot spoilers start coming out, I will leave. I love hearing about the contestants ahead of time. But I dont like the boot spoilers.

I dont mind cast reveals early but i've come to hate spoilers. I was mostly spoiler free in Micronesia and loved it a lot more than I would have had I had
all boot spoilers (I did know Jonny, Mary, Fairplay and Tracy were out "early").
Could be a refreshing change. |

I have and always will be a huge advocate against spoilers. It's kinda lame to know the ending to an episode based around who will go home. Much more fun
being oblivious, but I definitely love getting cast spoilers and fun little facts like "someone chops their fingers off"

Yeah I love cast spoilers, as I'm always dying to know who was cast for each season, and ready to pic my pre-show favorites. I went a couple seasons where
I read boot spoilers, and it definitely made the season less exciting. I read boot spoilers for Guatemala, and Judd was one of my favorite players, so I think
I would have really been completely shocked at his boot episode had I not known he was going from the spoilers. I also read the spoilers for Exile Island, and
most of the season was spoiled before it started, so I basically knew Terry or Cirie weren't going to win while watching the show, and that kind of sucked.
It was very exciting watching China/Micronesia without reading spoilers and not knowing what was going to happen at TC. If James would play one of his 2 idols in China... If Ozzy/Jason would play their idol....if Amanda found the idol.....If Erik would give up immunity...etc. I can't wait for this cast reveal because we really don't know what any of the contestants look like. Normally, we have a few pictures and stuff, but so far the only pictures we have are of crystal cox. |

This isn't spoiler related, but I'm bored so I'll post it anyway. It's an interesting article about the profitability of Survivor for CBS
(All-Stars was the most profitable season).
Survivor Micronesia made $96.5 million for CBS |

Forbes needs to get its facts straight. The article has All Stars as the 10th season rather than the 8th season. All Stars really did seem like the
cumination of the show but I'm glad that we have gotten 8 additional editionss and at least 2 more upcoming editions.

I think I get what he's saying. I do the same thing sometimes. I read spoilers to see if any of my favorite players make it far in the game. If I read
that all of my favorites get booted pre-merge, I know I won't be emotionally invested in the season. It's less disappointing if I know in advance the
season will suck.

But while Forbes says it's a "long-standing hit," the magazine says the show is "hardly the boost it once was," and "has little to
show for itself in reruns and DVDs."
Maybe if they released DVDs, or if any channels showed reruns. |

I enjoyed China so much without spoilers. I tried to do the same for Micro, but I crashed after the disappointing episode 3 when I thought there was no saving
the season.

I just have this nagging feeling that the reason we are short on spoilers is because we are too ignorant to read french. Maybe the Gabon Times hasn't been
reporting each boot, but there should be little tidbits from other tourists and production sub-contractors and such.
I don't care one way or the other about knowing the cast ahead of time, because it's not like I can do anything about it. I like getting bits and piecing them together, so I'd like to be hearing more details of the specific game locations, challenge themes, etc. |

How much does a typical show generally make for the network? 96.5 Million seems like A LOT of money.

CBS was smart in chosing Gabon. It's so remote as to squelch local spoilers. Perhaps it's a perfect storm of SEG clamping down, the remote location
and the dwindling number of spoiling sites. ..or maybe we just can read French as Birdlady says
