9 - Shirley Manson (Garbage)
What can be said about this woman that hasn't been said already? The corporate media will have you believe that Beyoncé and Jessica Simpson are the sexiest singers of our time (gag me!) but anyone who isn't a total sheep to Entertainment Weekly and Access Hollywood, will drool for Shirley. She is the ultimate sex bomb, women want to be her, men want their nasty way with her. On her worst day she could probably turn more women into lesbians and more gay men straight than Angelina on her best day. Her charisma and her sex appeal know no boundaries. And did I mention she's 40? But beyond the drooling over her, there's also the fact that she quite the singer and performer. Her voice is so sexy and haunting, it's like ear candy if there is such a term. She also has the benefit of being teamed up with 3 guys who all a huge a share of experience in the business. In case you didn't know, Garbage's drummer, Butch Vig, is also the producers of many early 90's albums, including Nevermind. The band itself never revolutionized anything, and sadly will probably be forgotten with time, but they did bring a fresh and unique sound to the table. Their versatility and their "dark pop" style also appealed to a broad audience. If you haven't ssen them, live, you simply have to. Shirley alone is reason enough.
