Iggy hasn't liked this entire thing from the beginning - and is indeed feeling ill will towards Rae for hanging him out. There's a feeling that some of Rae's people have been sabotaging Iggy as far back as Friday night. And they're right to feel that way. A leak Saturday night was designed to do just that - and when they got called on it, Rae made a few remarks Sunday night that were not apper.ciated.

So, those are the internal machinations of the Liberal party.

Harper pushed too hard. Day, Baird, and Prentince are all conspiring to push Harper out. They're doing so with that wink wink denial kind of bullshit. They can't be SEEN to be conspiring against Harper, but they are.

The real story about what's going on is that Iggy is going to let this stand for 5 months and consolidate his hold on the party. He has the best of both worlds right now - he'll take credit for the coalition if it succeeds, and he'll deny accountability if it fails.

The country has shifted. Alberta will never elect a Liberal no more than Toronto or Montreal will ever elect a Conservative. We're now into a permanent era of minority petty regionalism.
