I was Blackberrying N.S. Ontario and N.B. Libs on Saturday morning who told me they HATED this idea.
P.S. I just got two emails from actual Iggy office peeps today, no form email responses, real responses of substance, including grammar errors. Yay! Actual interest in little peeps. WOW! |

Everything is imploding....
Camel-breaking straw: Diehard, bellicose, separatist Jacques Parizeau backs coalition
In short, no act of clarity whatsoever. Meanwhile, Former Lib MP & Deputy PM John Manley is also now distancing himself from Dion's unholy alliance, telling a G&M confcall that his inclusion in Dion's wise men sounding board is news to him. "I havent agreed to do anything", he said. Developing ...

STICK A FORK IN IT! IT's DONE BAYBEEE!
UPDATE 2: Insiders are telling Bourque late this evening that "at least 15 opposition members are ready to break ranks and, if necessary, sit as independents. This group includes Dryden, Tonks, Bevilacqua (from Grits) and Angus (NDP)". Bourque is also hearing that "at least three Bloc members are considering same course of action and there maybe at least two Tories thinking of going the other way (as independents) - Michael 'Cheech' Chong and a backbencher named Richardson, whose first name escapes me." Developing ... |

You people didn't really think that these idiots could hold this shit together long enough for it to come to reality did you? All those bloated egos in one
coalition?

I don't agree with Dryden politically, but the man is a very thoughtful, sober person. My respect for the man has shot through the roof. My hockey respect
was always there for him and his brother. Go Oilers.

Go Oilers, indeed. Can we turn this into a Canadian Hockey thread now?

Go read the Sean Avery news in the NHL thread.... funniest thing in the news in a while. He talked about Canadians and his sloppy seconds (Elisha Cuthbert)

sorry to distract from the impo'tant stuff (hockey), but this WHOLE situation is still quite fluid. (not a reference to Avery's "sloppy seconds" quote) there are so many possible outcomes, it's silly to rely on any "breaking rumours" at this point... my sense is that if the Libs know that they won't be presenting a united front, or are in danger of embarrassing themselves, they'll find an out, as opposed to imploding. ('cause their chances of winning, somewhere down the road, have most likely increased) but since Harper inspired this previously inconceivable coalition, I still think he could light enough fires under it to ensure it actually comes to pass. even w/ PM DIngdONg as leader. |

Tonks Dryden and Bevilacqua are all on the Manley/center-right side of the party. Hell, before Tonks (former Metro Chairman) and Dryden joined the Liberals
federally, everyone thought they were PCs.

Parizeau supporting the coalition of the weinies has the Iggies revolting against it.
Leave it to Parizeau to clear out a room like an aged cheese fart.

So our union hasn't voted on the deal(ultimatum) that Harper's government is forcing down our throats. If this coalition comes to pass or Harper is
gone in some other way, can/will the government go back to the bargaining table with the Federal Employees or are we locked into this deal?

Dryden pauses to reflect...
