aka, "We're not that pleased with the premiere, so we're jamming two episodes together and calling it a two hour spectacular."
We'll see. |

aka, "We're not that pleased with the premiere, so we're jamming two episodes together and calling it a two hour spectacular."I take it to mean as, "We want to get as much bang for our buck with his Hi-Def thing, so we'll premiere Survivor during the week all the other shows premiere so more people watch it, and we'll show the first two episodes together so we don't waste a week in the long run." |

Yup, obviously they aren't pleased with the premiere episode at all. Survivor is also no longer kicking off CBS's fall season, not a good sign either.
Although they could just want to give Big Brother an extra episode, I'm sure that's it. |

I'm down with waiting a week in order to get two episodes at once.

CBS MOVES PREMIERE OF "SURVIVOR: GABON -- EARTH'S LAST EDEN" TO THURSDAY, SEPT. 25, 8:00-10:00 PM<3 reliable news sources. eta: Whoopsie. I thought Pearl Islands was two hours, not 90 minutes. |

I might be in the minority here, but I'm all for a 2-hour premiere. Maybe they'll actually be able to devote more time to people...

I'd agree if the 2 hours where about events of the first three days but we're only getting episodes #1 and 2 put back-to-back.

molemantn wrote: That has nothing to do with it. CBS had a scheduling hole to fill at 9 PM on premiere week to go against shows on other networks that are having season premieres at that time. A second episode of Survivor Gabon was the best thing that CBS had to pull in decent ratings at that time. For some reason, CBS does not want to begin the new season of CSI until after the Presidential debates are over. If anything, scheduling a second episode of Survivor to fill that void demonstrates that Survivor is still important to CBS. |
