It is a shame to see Robbie Jones ("Q") depart from this show. From the onset of the episode I knew the character was in trouble for the simple fact that the name of this show is One Tree Hill and nothing that positive and uplifting ever happens to any these characters. I think it is a great arch to really get the emotional bests out of the entire cast over the next few episodes, but it is a shame to see a quality actor and (from what I know of him) a quality person depart from a show where he brought so much to the table. It was great to see the Quentin character evolve over these last 20 episodes and both "Q" the character and Robbie Jones the actor will be greatly missed.
Sophia Bush is an incredible actress, just letting you all know. Her work in this episode was nothing short of phenomenal. Her ability to balance all the emotions that someone going through her situation would be going through is just astounding and captivating to watch. I expect the emotion and the quality of her performances to only continue to improve over these next several episodes. After 5 seasons of having Sophia only being able to do as much as the depth of her character would allow, to see her do this type of work under the Brooke character is amazing. It's gonna be heartbreaking, it's gonna be intense, but most of all it's gonna be good. I might be getting a wiff or two of an Emmy... maybe.
Paul Johannson (Dan) is truly classic. "Your plan sucks" might be the quote of the Fall season. How he is able to convey the emotions he conveys with just a simple smile or grunt is incredible. Torrey Devitto (Psycho Carrie) is complimenting him extremley well, and although that with everything else going on right now this arch may almost be viewed as filler, these two are bringing great performances to the set and are making what should probably be considered a silly or non-sensical storyline a very intriguing one, and more importantly, are keeping you guessing as to where it is going to go.
Who would have guessed that Antwon Tanner (Skills) and Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb) would have such outstanding chemistry together? Again, two very good actors coming together and turning a pretty wacky storyline into something not only credible but real and sincere. I cannot wait to see where the relationship goes and how the backlash of it effects the cast throughout the season.
Glad to see Nathan and Hayley's quests still getting ample time through all the business in Tree Hill right now. Good job by the writers to keep everything stable. James and Joy are also doing great work right now.
Lucas and Peyton are getting married right? Hard to keep track with everything else going on. As previously mentioned, I am not a Lucas/Peyton fan, but I gotta feel bad for those who are, as their relationship couldn't be any less important right now. However, I wouldn't be too worried. With the elevated performances of seemingly every cast member right now, I would expect nothing less from Chad Michael and Hillary over the coming weeks as their material starts to get deeper as well. And you know they are going to make you wait for the wedding.
Next week will be a hard one to watch, no doubt. Expect it to be nothing short of brillant though. People can say what they want about this show (and I know they will), but it hasn't gotten to over 100 episodes by accident. It can deliever pure drama and raw emotion like no other show on television - there is without question only One Tree Hill...
