Posts: 3842 (08/25/08 11:35 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I've audited about a dozen Shriners temples in the past few years; I have questions: 1) Why do they call their leader a Potentate? 2) Is there a lot of nudity in the "Nobles only" area? My guide walked me through this area but no one was there so I don't know if they run around with fezzes on their nads or anything. 3) What is with the big button in all of the Potentate offices? 4) What is a Rabban? 5) What the fuck is up with the obsession with camels? Is one hump or two the preferred? Thanks

My gramma was involved with the Eastern Star people and my grandpa was a Mason. I mostly want to know about the Nobles only areas and the big buttons.

I am not sure when the Catholics were allowed to join the Masonic ranks. Even then they were viewed with distrust and distaste. The Knights Of Columbus were created for the Catholics to have their own special secret club. I've never joined either. Too much memorization of useless stuff. And the whole clowning thing is creepy.

In Australia they're called the Knights of the Southern Cross. In Ireland they're called the Knights of the Sacred Potato I believe.
