Most likely, Dan would be a big target with or without this HOH win. If nothing else, he got one of those delusional twats out of the house.

He might have well just nominated Ollie. He should have just told Ollie, "Dude, you're safe. Even post veto. That's all I can give." Ollie still would have tried to save Michelle, sure, but there would have been no verbal agreement and if Michelle was nominated Ollie would have accepted it and so would Michelle. Dan could have still subtely worked with Ollie in the future as well since Dan would have kept his word about Ollie going up, but this move was worse than Jen's IMO.

Dan gave Ollie way too much freedom and he was so adamant and elaborate with Ollie about it and then he put up Memphis, his closest ally? Why wouldn't Ollie believe he'd honor the other part of the deal? He could have kept this week simple. Told Ollie he would not be nominated, but would expect the same from Ollie next week. Ollie would have taken that offer especially since Dan was the one who mentioned two people being safe to begin with. Dan let the HOH get to his head byu lying, being smug, cocky, narcissistic and downright vile, and he will pay for it in the long run. I don't know why him and Erig wanted to be so popular with the cool kids.

The larger situation is the same, just the particulars of the nominations are a tad different.

The personalities and histories are also different. Kaysar had never personally betrayed Jen, whereas Ollie had stabbed Dan in the back the very first week. That's one of the reasons why Ollie was an idiot to believe Dan would keep his word. Dan also at least protected Ollie, while Jennifer went all the way and got Kaysar out of the house.

They both probably did this because they thought it would look good on TV, so they have that in common.

Ollie did betray Dan the first week, which is true. But the situations are different. Dan, purposely did it, while Ollie jumped ship out of a bad position. When loud mouth Libra was screaming how Dan, Ollie and Brian were aligned, Ollie successfully jumped ship. I maintain that he would have stuck with those guys if Libra had not led the charge to get them all out.

If Ollie had ignored what was going on around him, my suspicion is that he would have been on the block next to Dan in Week 2 and not Steven. And possibly evicted instead of Dan. So, yes, Ollie did betray Dan but the circumstances were SO different then how Dan betrayed Ollie and Ollie didn't walk around being smug, cocky and narcissistic while at it. He was still friendly with Dan and Brian becuase they both understood why he did it. As you noticed, Ollie was not even close to being on Dan or Brian's radar if they had stayed in the house even after the betrayal because Ollie at least jumped ship with a little finesse and still left the door open unlike Dan who has closed the door on that partnership altogether.
