ETA: I guess it makese sense that Dan understands the most, since he's a PLANT! I have a feeling that Dan was smart enough to hide his knowledge from casting as we know they try to avoid applicants who are familiar with the show. In the same way Dan played up his religion and conservative values to get on the show I bet he pretended not to know much about BB. It's obvious from his comments that he's a genuine fan. It would not surprise me at all if he checked out Sucks when this is over.

ITA. I get annoyed when he finally starts talking and somebody interrupts him, but he just stops talking and lets them ramble. ...it's annoying as shit bcuz I wanna hear what he's gonna say, but that's how he gets his info. I also agree with you about the conversations he has with everyone, even when he's not HOH....he has 1 or 2 words in an hour long convo and he manages to walk away with a wealth of info. Dan has also said that he watches people and is able to take info from their reactions, so sometimes the hamsters don't have to say anything and Dan has learned something that can further him in the game. I can imagine at the beginning of this season that Robyn Kass and Allison Grodner were extremely pissed off that Dan's conservatism/religion were not being brought out into volatile house discussions, etc .. I can see an e-mail exchange between them along the lines of "He fooled us" or "That little fucker is hiding his views!" Well, any complaint those ladies had about Dan flipping the script on them during the early stages of the show has to subsided and now turned into throes of ecstasy after the events of this week. The Sunday and Tuesday episodes of the CBS Show have been/will be editited as "Dan the Mastermind/Ollie the Idiot" and even though they didn't get what they wanted or originally thought.. I think this is 100 times better than what they could've imagined The powers obviously don't cast this way, but personally, I'm much more enthralled by a great game player/strategist than one who can yell and scream or who gets in fights about hot button issues and viewpoints in the house.

Big Red X for me here. I even love the paranoia we see in houseguests like Michelle and Libra. They both overplayed the game, looking so far into things that they didn't even see what was right in front of them. I think BB did an amazing job this year of putting genuinely intelligent people in the house as well (all of whom were willing to get their hands dirty - another plus) mixed in with a few alpha-types, a few huge egos and a few people just there to have a good time and not have to work all summer. Things didnt work out so well for Brian or Angie due to a few early, irreparable errors but had they stayed in the house I think this season would've been even more crazy.

Angie also seemed smart to me but again, early mistakes cost her. I also dont think Memphis is stupid. He's quiet and seems to like things simple but he knows whats going on.
