I don't want them to lower the age now because I had to wait until 21 and they should too god dammit. Being 20 sucks, you date girls that can get into bars you can't so then you have to go to an 18 and up bar, and they don't want to drink because of all the idiots around them. How are you suppose to get them drunk and take advantage then????

Lower Drinking Age for the USA?????

they wristband the people going in who are over 21 and only those with wristbands are allowed to buy alcohol - Rick's Cabaret (Club Onyx), Numbers and a
lot of other places allow 18 year olds in

I don't trust the judgment of 18 year olds, still in high school, to go out for dinner, order a few drinks, and then recognize that they shouldn't
drive home. I also agree with SJ that lowering the drinking age would make it easier for 15-17 year olds to get alcohol, since it's easier for them to pass
as 18 instead of 21. So basically I think that lowering the drinking age to 18 would put more drunk drivers, between the ages of 16 to 20, on the road. Keeping
the drinking age at 21 makes sense to me. Fewer threats to my safety.

They were real bars, you just had to have a bracelet to drink. Some did big X's in sharpie on the underages, but that wasn't too hard to get around.

I don't think drunk driving has anything to do with this debate; there are plenty of old fart drunk drivers. It's also pretty much 100% controllable if
any states would pass strict drunk driving laws so that repeat offenders would get some serious jail time.

We have this old dude come in the store that can walk from his car into the store and ask for cigarettes but he has to get on the handicap cart to get his
liquor and lottery tickets. He manages in about 10 feet to destroy at least 2 stands in his driving.
He should be banned from road driving and 'tardyfatcart. I suggested this and I was looked at like I was the devil incarnate. |

Yeah, 21 is totally insane. I think 18 is fine, but I do agree that having a drinking age actually makes it a forbidden fruit. Honestly, if you just wiped out
the age and let kids try it like it wasn't a big deal, gave them a sip of scotch their first go they'd probably say "Wow this sucks" and
drinking would be overall less of an issue
Because thats the funny thing. Most of us thought booze was repulsive the first time we tasted it. Yet we soldiered on, because its supposed to be such wonderful stuff |

A HELL of a lot of drunk drivers are older people who still haven't adjusted to the fact that you really can't drink and drive anymore. Yes there are idiots who are younger, but those people are probably going to be drinking and driving at 21 anyways |
