I don't see how lowering the drinking age is going to change the culture of the idiotic douche.bags in frat houses at Ohio State--so I have to agree with
MADD that these presidents are really coming together just to avoid dealing with a problem.
However, that's because they are UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS--and they shouldn't have to waste their time dealing with bullshit like monitoring the youngun's and whether or not they're drinking.
Anywho, I have yet to hear much of a compelling argument as to why the drinking age needs to remain 21, so I'm all for it being lowered to 18. The fact that I'm 19 has nothing to do with this--I'm definitely not an alcoholic and only drink once in a while. Really though, I just think the police have better things to do with their time than making sure the kids aren't drinking...like, say, oh I don't know, cracking down on cocaine use or getting people for DUIs. You know, the kind of stuff that actually hurts people.

Christ, when I visited Calgary once, I swear to God, some of those kids looked no older than 16.
