I'm a huge fan of Mean Girls. I've seen numerous comparisons between these 2 films. Tina Fey (writer of
MG) has even stated that she considers Heathers to be a "dark
version" of MG.
I've seen some critic reviews where they called MG a hybrid of Heathers & Clueless. I used to love Clueless. Still do. Though, I prefer MG over Clueless.
Anyway, so I finally decided to watch Heathers after seeing it so often compared to 2 of my all time favorite movies.
I didn't get the big deal. Heathers has, like, a 95% freshness rating on rotten tomatoes while MG and Clueless have an 85% and 83% respectively.
The only thing I liked about Heathers was the fact that it introduced me to Christian Slater. I was unfamiliar with his work before this. Damn...hotness in a leather jacket. Yum.
I don't get why lots of critics consider MG to be a 2nd rate Heathers. IMO: Mean Girls >>> Heathers.
