I don't want to muck up the olympics thread because that one dude said it was just to discuss events and such. But bambi was for sure a boy....RIGHT??

Yes.
According to WiKi, Faline was his future mate, and Faline is a girl. So unless you want to argue that Bambi was a lesbian (I have many pics on my drive that will support that), Bambi was a boy. |

Yes. Bambi is a guy in both the original book, and the Disney movie (which has very little in common with the book).

His chick gave birth to twins. Bambi in Disney is a guy.
Bambi in the Prince tune is a lesbian chick Prince is trying to get to fuck him. |

Bambi's mother getting whacked was NOTHING compared to Dumbo's mother getting sent away by The Man.
I cried so loud my mother had to take me out of the theater to calm down. I was an odd child. |

So you identified a little more with Circus elephants than sleek, athletic deer. Huh. Imagine that.

I cried the first 30 times I watched dumbo too. It was when my kid was about 4.

The same time that ET came out Disney released (or re-released) The Fox and the Hound. I cried so hard at the end of the Fox and the Hound because they
couldn't be friends anymore and it was really, really sad! Then, the next day, we went to see ET. My entire family was crying at the end and I was like
"He finally got to go home! He's happy and safe!" I couldn't imagine why they thought ET was sadder than the Fox and the Hound. I think I was
10. I, too, was an odd child.
ETA: Oh and I challenge anyone to get through the lullabye scene in Dumbo without crying! It can't be done! If you can do it you have a heart of stone and there is no hope for you!!! |
