Nothing that I know of....... The startup cost is the only thing stopping me from buying solar panels and a windmill for the barn....I think I'll leave the
house on the grid for a while.

Start up costs can be quite high, depending on the size of windmill. If you want one that will not only generate power for yourself, but also be able to
sell excess to the local utility company, then the costs get even higher...provided the local grid can even support it, many can't.
