DHC your biggest mistake is trying to buy the computer from a brick and mortar shop with real salespeople.
surf online, lots of discount sites. you'll save $500 easily from the store value. |

DHC, it probably all boils down to how important having a portable machine would be to you.
If you think you'd regret not having a machine that you can just pick up and take with you, or be able to use basically anywhere in your house - while watching TV, or relaxing in bed, for example - then go with a laptop. If the portability factor isn't really important to you, though, go with the desktop, which is the better choice in every other respect, as Vicc outlined early in the thread. |

Something to keep in mind
You spill water on a desktop keyboard, you just replace the keyboard. You spill water on a laptop keyboard, you may need to replace a lot more. |

Ever since I got a laptop for my birthday in April, I've been using it way more than my PC. The only thing I dislike about it is that I tend to make typos
much more easily than I do on my PC.

I want a pretty Pink Dell Insipron..... Was thinking of going through Best Buy and getting their 3 year warranty (if they still offer it). I got that on my
last laptop in 2002 and it died 1 month before the warranty ended and I got a brand new one!
