The albums I listed aren't all my favorites, most are, but a few are just so strong throughout that I thought they should make the list.

Yeah, but there were a ton of singles off of it and I liked the others as well. I see your point, but it was a really strong album from start to finish IMO.

That why Ziggy Stardust doesn't make it (never liked Rock And Roll Suicide).

The Bends
OK Computer Kid A In Rainbows would all get that vote from me as far as Radiohead goes. Pablo Honey fits the description in the op perfectly while Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief both have 3 or 4 songs they'd be much better off without. Ys by Joanna Newsom is another recent album that fits. |

The Begin" really is a dud. Very few REM albums after Fables Of The Reconstruction are perfect start to finish,
even if they are great over all. Automatic For The People is the only one that lacked filler after '87, IMO.

I liked that song. Maybe because it was my first REM album, I don't know, but I loved it from start to finish. Different strokes, I guess.

At some point the sound of Stipes' voice on any album became chalk on blackboard for me. The earnest yelping.

You're not into Lovely Rita, Getting Better, When I'm Sixty Four, etc? These are amazing songs that have never stopped being a source of
wonder.
I like them. I still don't think they are the best examples of what they were capable of. A Day in the Life and the Sgt Pepper reprise that leads into it still give me shivers, though. As an album, I probably even prefer Rubber Soul or Help as well (which I know don't come close to Pepper in terms of innovation). |

Ys by Joanna Newsom is another recent album that fits. Maybe I just don't "get" her, but her music is sooo.......just not into her. |

All of Bjork's albums are complete works if art imo.
I like Tidal better than When The Pawn... |

I don't "get" Bjork either!

Should I commit total heresy now and say that the White Album is their most overrated? Let me qualify this by saying the Beatles at their worst are still
better than 99.9% of everyone else.

TheWhite Album is what it is, it's got its own sound, its own ethos. It's a great lp. It's demented, nuts, and insane. They were playing as a
rock band. Personally I think Abbey Road is the overated one - it's good but way too many people rate it as best.

I agree with you AMT - there's a lot of the White Album I didn't care for

Revolution #9 isn't for everyone but if you have a taste for Avant Garde it really does make sense.

Absolutely. The White Album is the only Beatles album I'll still play start-to-finish at least every six months or so. I don't remember the last time I
listened to Sgt Pepper's.
