Schools start here day after Labor Day. Teachers have to report back Thursday & Friday before. Lot's of pissed teachers starting school year is BAD!
I was in Target for school supplies today. They had Mead 5 Star Notebooks for $1. I wanted to buy 20 of them. They had none. Fuckers wouldn't give me a rain check they said it was a "seasonal" item. I told them they have them all year round in stationary. Didn't matter they said if it's in the flyer as school supplies it's seasonal. FUCK THEM! |

We go back the 28th and usually get out the first few days in June. This year I only have one left at home with me! Yay!

when did that change? when I was a kid being dropped off by your mother or having your mother waiting to pick you up made you the object of derision and scorn 'cause that was for babies and mollycoddles |

Here kindergarten is half day and you are responsible for driving your kid to/from school depending on if they have AM or PM. Pain. In. The Ass.

My kid started August 13. She has to leave the house by 7:15 to get a parking spot. The school has one lot blocked off due to the new stadium they're
building. It's a mess trying to get in or out.
We can't get decent books, but the football team will have artificial turf to play a game on.

It's gotta be a southern thing. When I grew up in Illinois, we had the Labor Day-Memorial Day deal, a week from Christmas to New Years and a week at
Easter. Now the teachers got a zillion "work days" and the kids have longer breaks at the holidays.
I think they should go all year long. |

No more annoying kids at the movie theater Mid Day when you're Skipping work with a friend 
Unfortunately - I'm in University now. So I too am going back to school, but I am also Canookian - so I start the day after labour day, which is a fucking TUESDAY this year. 
Actually, I have a Tutorial and a Seminar before I go back.. so it's actually earlier. And the Seminar/Tutorial is longer than a regular day in class anyways
