I can honestly say that I would have wanted Ollie to screw over Dan also. Ive always thought the keeping your word shit was stupid. You're probably right though I would attribute that to Ollie being far less liked in general. When someone you're not rooting for screws over the person you ARE rooting for, that makes that person even more hatable. If Ollie got HoH, promising dan safety and kept true to his word, he'd probably become a little more popular among Dan-fans. All of this is stating to obvious but its the truth and I dont see anything wrong with it even if its double-standard-ish.. People want Dan to do whatever he needs to do to get through the next week. If that means breaking his word I have a feeling a lot of people will support him on that (especially if it means someone less popular is evicted as a result). And if Dan can get through the week without breaking his word and at the same time, positioning himself for safety for another few weeks, all the better. That's pretty much how it goes.

That said.. I think Dan can probably pull this off and explain himself... what if he knew he wasnt going to beat ollie... maybe Dan knew that he wasnt going to last anymore than a few more minutes? He had already told Ollie that he was ready to hang up there another 4 hours, 12 hours whatever it took and that didnt phase ollie... so he tried offering him more... if you know you're about to fall and you've tried to bluff the other guy into giving in by acting like you're fine and that doesnt work... what else can Dan do?? .... offer ollie the sun/moon and stars if that's what it takes to get him to drop! because even if you give up half your hoh power it's still better than giving it all up by trying to beat the guy when you know your ready to fall any minute. So Dan keeps offering until ollie gives in and Dan gets the HOH... now all he has to do is try and make sure that Jerry goes home and everything will be okay. I think if Dan tells Memphis that he couldnt hang on any longer and what would memphis have preferred for him to do? Drop and let ollie take the hoh or offer ollie enough to get him to drop thus retaining at least some control over the hoh? (assuming he keeps the deal) If I was Memphis I think I'd have to see the reasoning and hopefully believe that Dan did his best.... hell memphis should know better than anyone how painful it was to stay up there any longer. I really, really hope that the scenario above happens. It would go a long way to assuage my disappointment in Dan. It makes sense, but I am not sure it is actually what Dan was thinking. If it is, then he is pretty smart and as you said, he can always tell M and K that it was better than letting Ollie control everything. In the end, I don't think Dan will put up either K or M at all. I think he probably realizes that his chances of winning would go from unlikely to non-existent if he did that. I'm feeling better now than I did several hours ago, but I will feel better if Dan talks to them today and reassures them that he isn't going to put them up.

Love the conspiracy theory. Monica seen going to pregame sequester makes Dan a plant, very good. Add to that a missing house guest, a secret room as yet undiscovered, and double eviction this week, and a double eviction Blistering thinks is going to happen in Sept. due to tickets being available to back to back shows. Now we're down a house guest if the season is to end Sept. 18. Could someone be coming in to the house that has been in the secret room?

Is it only Ollie saying he gets to choose one of the initial nominees, or did Dan agree to that too? Because that's where this could get fucked up. I've been assuming Renny would go up as the pawn, but if Ollie chooses, it would obviously be Memphis. And if Memphis goes up on the block against Jerry, there is NO WAY Renny doesn't vote Memphis out. I think that's what Dan was saying last night to Keesha(?), about needing to work Renny and counting on her. He needs her vote. I don't think he'll get it. If he sticks to this he absolutely has to have Keesha, Memphis, or himself win veto.

It almost forces them to break their word or forfeit their game. If Ollie were smart, he'd do whatever he can to make sure the Veto's not used if Renny and Jerry are up on the block. He'd be pushing his luck to assume Dan was going to put up Keesha or Memphis over Michelle or himself as a replacement nom. Better to let Dan break his word and then hold it against him later if he has to than to assume Dan's forced into doing what he wants him to do because if Dan does break his word and put up Ollie or Michelle as a replacement nom, it's likely that person will be out the door.
