I think they're positioning Orville for some major redemption. He starts out all handsome and manly, like a model in an outdoors product commercial, turns
out to be a whiny diva, but then survives some crisis and finds his inner survivalist. Gets to make the personal growth/not backstabbing speech to the jury.
Ghostly figure (can we name him Casper?) gets the JP boot from a short-lived pre-merge women's alliance. |

It's amazing (and somewhat refreshing) that not a single person could dig up a single tidbit on this season and we are exactly a month away from the
premier.
It's one thing to have nothing on the cast-but does anyone even know when the cast will be announced? |

The consensus seems to be that it will be announced this week (possibly Monday August 18th), but no one knows whether it will be revealed on the CBS website,
TV Guide, or Entertainment Weekly.

I dunno Trix, Kellay may be ummm slightly augmented (although I know you wouldn't know this, nice touch to the spelling though), Jessica aka
"Sugar" has a fugly tummy tattoo, and Jackie appears to be a normal girl.
Yup a very nice smile on Paloma...lol actually there is a pic of her with a nice smile in S17 plus. |

Corinne looks normal to me, too, except for brunette rather than blond. So it would have to be nbg and nbg...

Well, all seems right with the world now that these theads are started in MESS.
I can only assume he knows what he is talking about, but Todd did post that the cast reveal would be 8/28. |

"i know the website goes up on the 28. im assuming itll be in tv guide that week too. Dont expect crazy twists, ive heard we may be back to simple formatting... that would be nice. There are lots of fans on the show from all over the states. the cast is looking like it will be quite a bit similar to chinas cast!" Few twists (yea!) as previously hinted at. We should get some older folks, less inclined to using myspace. Plus maybe the athlete, which Crystal could be. Let's hope she's better than Ashley....I 'm not sure I like this delay though. Either they think they've got something special that sells itself, or it's a real stinker they have to doctor up. |

I'm hoping Crystal has better interpersonal skills than Erica. I'm not sure I would have classed Ashley as The Athlete.
I think the delay is because of the Olympics, not because of anything in this season. Folks are parked in front of the tube, watching for-serious athletes, who also have all sorts of triumph over genuine adversity stories. Then they switch over to see a commercial with whiny Dr. Marcus. Not too appealing. |

Im Todd, that kid from that show whom some of you loved and some of you hated! Either way i love me some skills and cant wait to post through out the season of Gabon what I'm thinking! The cast for the season is shaping up to look great, and to be completely honest I cant wait to see them in action! No more complaining about 'mactors' or 'recruits' cause I can guarantee you that a large chunk of these kids are true Survivor fans! I know who I'm rootin for (real hard to guess) Now tell me, who is it thats going to go far?! also Hey guys. so what ive heard ( and i cant guarantee it all ) is that Wed is the official cast on cbs.com and entertainment weekly. Also I have heard that the first episode (the 25) will be two one hour episodes. So there we go So get those DVDs and VCRs set, and check the CBS website tomorrow. ....but I'm not liking the delay, I'm smelling something unappealing here. |

Yeah, I've been doing my best to reserve judgement, but my hinkies are twinging at both the TAR cast being released prior to the S17 cast and now the
premiere delay - especially if they're just doing two one-hour episodes, instead of a "WOW - we've got something really great here, and we want to
give you two hours to get to know these people before we boot one of them!" episode
