How would weight-lifting sit with the yeshiva folks? I thought gymnasia were apikoros.lol. It used to be considered not such a great thing in the religious world but it's become more accepted for health reasons (at least the cardio is). We have separate male and female gyms. The gym I go to does not have a bench press because the owner was worried it would attract meatheads. I had to use dumb bells for my chest. There is a no-flexing policy and if you flex and kiss your muscles you are kicked out. Don't even ask me what they do to you if you oil yourself up, flex, and then kiss your muscles.
JeffGator? More like JewGator.
But yes, when done properly lifting weights is good for you. The key to lifting weights is form, basically, don't move any part of your body that doesn't need to be moved (when doing lat pulls your butt should not come off the bench because the weight is slinging you around, when you do bench your shoulder blades and feet shouldn't be your only two points of contact, when you curl, your back shouldn't swing to get the weights up)
It's simple shit that keeps you from crapping in a bag.
Thanks dude, I've never lifted weights before in my life.
And yeah I had chicken legs when I worked out, because i never did my legs. But that's still better than guys who just work out their chest and everything else is so disproportionate because their chest makes their back and shoulders look like they are going to collapse. It's the opposite of a concave chest.
