I just stumbled across this board while searching for discusison about The Mole finale last night. For me, the ending to the show could not have been more PERFECT. The good guy won the money, the guy I suspected was the mole, and the arrogant bitch lost!!! Craig winning and Mark being the mole would have been ok too--as long as Nicole got absolutely nothing!!

I just started suspecting Craig over the last couple episodes. His Mole-like actions were well disguised by his lack of athletic ability and his likeability When he failed at something, you didn't think he was the mole--you just gave him credit for trying. The fact that he flew under my radar for the first few weeks makes him a good mole in my opinion.

Reading through the posts here I must say I am completely SHOCKED about how many people wanted Nicole to win. I couldn't stand her from the first minute, and she only got more annoying as the weeks went by. She is arrogant and not nearly as smart as she thinks she is (notice how she always let Mark solve all the puzzles but acted like she was helping). Plus she thought that the rules of the game didn't apply to her. I knew she could not be the mole because the things she did to sabotage were WAY too obvious--if she had been the mole it would have been totally anti-climactic because she was trying too hard to draw attention to herself. I was bummed when Paul went home because her was her nemesis, but I was so happy to see her win nothing!! Paul played the game well and really should have been in the final 3 instead of her.

That doesn't make any sense. First you say she sucked at the puzzles and the tasks, but tried to look helpful, and then you say she was way too obvious in how she sabotaged tasks. Isn't that contradictory? Either she was too obvious in failing the tasks on purpose, or she sucked at the tasks, and acted like she was helping. And it's obvious she only "sucked" at certain tasks on purpose, she said it would be her strategy to get people think she was the mole from the very first day. And guess what? It worked. Even the winner thought she was the mole. If Paul wanted to be in the finale three so badly, then he shouldn't have sucked at the puzzle for the last exemption (which shows he sucks at puzzles more than Nicole), and he shouldn't have done worse than her on the quiz (proving again that she was superior). If think Nicole has proven that she is a very smart lady. All the other contestants think so too (in interviews). The only person who truly deserved to be in the final 3 (not necessarilly win) was Nicole, because Mark got much too lucky too many times, and Paul didn't actually make the final 3, meaning, in retrospect, she was the most deserving, at that time, to be in the finals, since she knew exactly who the mole was (unlike Mark), and did the best on the quiz (unlike Paul).

And how did she think the rules of the game didn't apply to her? What a stupid comment.

No, it isn't contradictory. I was making 2 separate observations. She was very arrogant and had a very elitist attitude. It was pretty obvious that she thought she was better and smarter than everyone else, however whenever she was solving puzzles she spun her wheels and let everyone else do the work. That is not the same as her sabotaging missions and acting like the mole--it just showed how she wasn't all that smart and let other people do her work for her. For being a Doctor, I expected her to be a little brighter. She is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is. As far as her pretending to be the mole, she tried to put on a very mysterious facade and act strange, but it was just too much. She ran her mouth too much and fought too much with other people (Paul especially). The real mole never draws that much attention to themselves. And that same thing holds true for Paul--I never suspected him as the mole because he talked too much and tried to rattle everyone.

I can think of at least 2 missions where Nicole thought she was "above the rules." In the very first episode where she (and 3 others) were told to sleep outside, she immediately threw a hissy fit and refused because it was too cold and said she "didn't have to do anything". She informed the others that since the only rule was that she must sleep outside, she would stay awake all night inside. The other 3 slept outside as they were told, so they followed the rules. Also, in the last missions, she tried to pass of regular ice cream for dulce de leche (once again not following the rules) and got caught. Plus she just laid down and got some "sun" and refused to find the last clue to complete the mission--a car had to come and get her. No wonder they called her Dr. Whiner---it sure does fit. Do you get it now??
