First, as others have pointed out what does "European" mean, it's a pretty big and diverse continent? But everytime either of them has a problem in the competition this is supposedly the reason. I did poorly on my photoshoot, it's because I'm a European.. I did badly on that challenge, it's because I'm European. Makes no sense. Amazingly enough both countries (and the rest of Europe) produce loads of working models *shock*. Marjorie would still be an awkward dork if she were still in France. And Russia (or wherever Elina is from) certainly has no monopoly on angry sullen girls. Everyone is different. A lot of people have backgrounds that are unique and might set them apart. But by framing it as "we're European (because apparently Russians and French are exactly the same) and nobody else can understand our pain" they're creating a divisive dynamic.

But every time any of these girls are held up as a deserving object of our sympathy, it is always useful to remind oneself that they are on ANTM, ffs. Like really, most sane people with genuine integrity and half a clue wouldn't go anywhere near this show, so whatevs. I'm assuming from the get-go that they're all pretty much bonafide nutjobs, Elina and Marjorie definitely included.
