This show just keeps getting crazier.
One minute Sylar is making out with Elle, then he's evilly cutting off her head. I can't wait to see how Claire and Hiro evesdropping on HRG receiving baby Claire is going to help Hiro get his memory back. br |

So Adam was going to die soon anyway. Good to know there haven't been any eclipses for the last few hundred years.
And why didn't Arthur already have Adam's healing power, anyway? Looks like Maury let him copy his power. Would make sense for "The 12" (what did they call themselves again) to let Arthur copy all of their powers anyway. Maury = Team Player. Adam = Dust. And it IS curious how Claire's never been sick a day in her life, since we're supposed to believe she only got her abilities a year ago, with the last eclipse. Which we're supposed to believe for everyone now (except for The 12, I guess)? What shitty revisionism. How come Arthur seems so clueless about how the powers work? He's somehow behind giving Tracy and Nathan their powers. He should now about The Catalyst. He should also be familiar with eclipses... oh yeah, those haven't happened for hundreds of years. I'm surprised people didn't start running around, seeking shelter, praying, and/or offering themselves to the Light God, for he was clearly very angry to take the light away. And how come Isaac Mendez, who can only paint the future, know what people are saying? Does he see thought bubbles too? Oh well... easily the worst episodes of the series. I hope it picks up. |

I posted this rant at another board I post at, and I guess I'll post it here. I've finally cracked.
I've been a loyal defender of this show so much (you all clearly know that), but I just can't take it anymore.
I personally think they need to fire Tim Kring and give the show to some else. He has absolutely no fucking clue where he wants to take the characters and keeps repeating story after story after story. He won't let characters go and then he's completely banished characters with potential (Adam, Monica, Maury, Micah, Maya, Bob) just to focus on the same old played out characters from season one. It's season freak'in three and we still have the same cast of characters as season one with very minor changes. For a show like Heroes where we're suppose to believe events like this are happening throughout the world to other ordinary people, this is unacceptable. I'm tired of the unfunny Hiro and Ando adventures, I'm tired of Sylar, I'm tired of morally grey Noah having to protect Claire, I'm tired of everything revolving around Claire, I'm tired of the Petrelli family melodrama, I'm tired of Mohinder being stupid, at least his naivete was understandable in season one, but this is ridiculous. The only bright spots now at this point for me are Matt (who is the only one with a brain left. He's pretty much the only one that has shown consistent character progression w/o back peddling since season one), Daphne, Tracy, Sandra, and Meredith. A part of me wishes they would have stuck with the original idea for season two with a completely new cast of characters, with appearances from the season one characters mixed in throughout future seasons. And this crushes me so much that I think this because I freak'in love this show and I'm so po'ed that Kring has just completely SHAT all over it's potential. ::cries::

I can't believe how horrible this show has become. It astounds me that from Season 1, one of the best first seasons of any show in the past five years, we
get this disgrace of a show. How can we go from a pile of diamonds to a pile of shit in just two years? I'm gonna watch the rest of Volume 3 (which luckily
ends on the 15th), so I'm praying that this show can get back on its feet. But that ain't gonna happen.
I'm on a shitty computer at the public library, so I can't see the images (I'm assuming their images because there's a box with a red x in it) that are on page 120, so here's mine: Mohinder sulks about his mutation to Arthur at Pinehearst. But Arthur doesn't give a fuck! Oh, wait... |

And I'm sorry, but Season two wasn't even that bad!! Going back and watching it was great and at least tied into the first season and introduced some
great characters and stories that could have blossomed during the second half of the season (fucking strike)
It always irked me that this season they have completely ignored what happened in season two and act like they are starting from scratch. |

This season just isn't cohesive. I often forget what they're even fighting for. Oh yeah...the world cracks in half or something...right...
I also think the writers got tied up in trying to write stories they think the audience wants to see, instead of writing stories they want to tell. I also think it's possible they were forced by non-creative execs to include more Sylar, and it's obvious they struggle to find ways to put him into every story. They don't know what to do with him, and they've ruined what made him popular in the first place (although I've always considered him tedious and one-note, which is barely better than inconsistent and cyclical). And I didn't hate Season 2 at all. I think the writers strike made it seem jumbled, but had the full story been told I think it would have been pretty good. |

Yeah, Season Two - especially now - just felt more like a wasted opportunity, especially with the writers' strike. This season is just trash. I'm
done. I echo everything GJ said. I'll try again in season 4, if it happens.

I also think the writers got tied up in trying to write stories they think the audience wants to see, instead of writing stories they want to tell. I think this sums it up perfectly. I think the writers the show has are capable of writing great stories THEY want to tell, but they are too caught up in trying to please every single fan that they are throwing all of their creativity by the wayside. |

It seems everyone has reached their breaking point, including me, even though I have had virtually no issues (besides from Elle's death) with these last
two episodes. It is frustrating to watch this once GREAT show dig itself into a whole that it more then likely will not be able to dig itself out of.
From everything I hear, Fugitivies sounds great on paper, but to be honest here, so did Generations and so did Villains. I have supported Kring and given him the benefit of the doubt time after time, but I just don't know if he should be the man in charge anymore. If anything, Loeb and Alexander would have been much better suited to right the ship going forward in my opinion. Sylar has been ruined. If anyone can please explain to me exactly why he killed Elle last night I would be bloddy thrilled. It made little to no sense whatsoever. I always expected the character to eventually make amends for his past transgressions but dear lord has it been handeled horribly. No need to go into detail as you all watch the show, but it is now apparent that he should have died in S1 - no doubt. Milo and Hayden cannot be killed off - they (whether you like it or not) are the faces of the show. The simple solution for both of them is to future them up. Future Claire was incredible. People forget that Hayden is an extremley versatile actress that can do much more then play the whiny cheerleader - this girl has chops, they just desperatley need to give her more to work with. In so far as the Peter character, find a way for him to get his powers back, but don't make him invincible... if that is possible. They dropped the ball with Peter from episode one this season, as the Peter v. Jesse arc would have been awesome and also a way to prolong his (Peter's) inevitable God like strength from taking over once again. What happened to him obtaining Sylar's power, why was that even done? Either add those future elements to his character completley or revert him back to the Peter we all came to know during the beginning of the series - that worked. Hiro needs to go. I will continue to say that giving Ando his power from the first episode and having him be the bad-ass that Future Hiro could have been is the way to go. Ando is more popular and his power wouldn't give the viewing audience a massive headache. I like Masi as an actor, but the character's time has come. Mohinder needs to go. Period. More Tracy, more Daphne, more Matt. These three have consistently done the best work this season (sans K. Bell) and they (especially Tracy) need to be given more prominent roles. Tracy as the main villainess of Fugitives sounds like a plan to me. Kring and company - re-watch Season 1... twice. Figure out what made that work and build off it. I love this show, I don't want to lose it. |

Add me to the long list of people who are pissed off at how bad this once-wonderful has become. But I think you're all making the mistake of thinking that
Tim Kring & Co. care about making a good show and telling interesting stories. Kring himself is probably too busy counting his money to give a fuck about
what happens to this show, and they only thing they care about at this point is dragging the show out a couple more seasons so they can sell it into
syndication.

Gregoire wrote: What a HORRIBLE episode though. And I'm one of the people that haven't minded this season in general. Peter and Nathan's acting in Haiti was so fucking awful it legitimately made me laugh. Nathan's lines were delivered so Nothing much to say about Elle dying that hasn't already been said. Its bullshit how people are just like "omg crazy Kristen Bell fans!1!". She IS a good actress and it WAS a dynamic character. Why is it bad to be pissed about it? I'm not gonna omgneverwatchagain but its annoying to see the writers finally kill someone and instead of killing one of the 20 awful characters, they pick one of the 2 or 3 good ones. omg I just saw that even GreJu is sick of the show! =o the producers should really be worried now

GrenadeJumper85 wrote:rofl a summary of every single thing people have said in this thread, but so true. however for last season i doubt they would of been able to top season 1 because of the strike happening, regardless of actual good story plots/lines. you know a show is bad when the fans have from five to fifteen charecters on their wishlist to suffer an excruciating, angonizing death. unless nbc has authorization to fire the show's creator (lol what laughs that would bring) don't think kring is leaving before the show...(gets cancelled). how amazing would heroes have been if jj abrams had been involved. seriously if abrams decided to rip this concept from kring it would be 798323x better. |

First two episodes this season had me shaking my head at how unfocused the writers were. Then I thought the show pulled out of its nosedive. But yeah, the
eclipse episodes were not only tragically disappointing but a backwards leap in character development.
Part of me thinks the problem all along has been that the writers (Kring in particular) are not really interested in the super powers of the characters. It's just an excuse for some telemundo melodrama angsty crap. And we all know the problems the show has with its spread out cast, plots coming together on a forced timetable, characters behaving stupidly to accomodate the weak writing and good actors and/or characters getting pushed aside for crappy ones (Mohinder, Parkman and Hiro). The low point of last night's episode was Claire newly repowered on her bed whining AGAIN to her daddy how he doesn't really love her and his work always comes first. Oh for the love of pete - fire the "writers" NBC. The big shocker of the episode wasn't Sylar's mystifying character regression - it's Grenade losing the love. Never saw that coming. |
