Countdown to Merk & Buggles putting on their rain slickers with nuthin underneath. |

Don't make frolicking in the rain with another man sound so dirty.

And besides, they only have the one rain slicker, so they have to share.

So did everyone evacuate or were you like the damned Katrinians?

I think even the Galveston people stayed put - there weren't any evacuations orders issued. I don't think people usually evacuate in the face of a
tropical storm that might turn into a Cat 1.
It's raining a little bit here, but we're on the far edge of the clean side of the storm. Power will be staying on (yay!) and I'll have plenty of bottled water for the next possible storm. |

It's barely sprinkling in Houston proper.
We were told NOT to evacuate. All of the neighbors are home. |

It damn well better not take you two years to rebuild from this thing.
Could Houston be considered a Chocolate City? I would think it's either a Refried City or maybe a Sweet and Sour City. |

What about Curry City? We have a lot of Indians here, too.
Maybe if it would have rained a little harder some of the Katrinians would have moved on to Dallas. |

We got our fair share.
Within 48 hours of landfall DPD has a new task force to deal with NO gangs and drugs. See if you can find The Boondocks episode on Hurricane Katrina. Extremely funny and painfully true.

I hear you - we're still dealing with the increased crime and gang problems. Of course, the police chief and mayor keep trying to tell us that crime
hasn't really gone up because there's more people, so percentage-wise it's stayed the same. I'm pretty sure that I'm
still more likely to be killed or robbed than I was before, so that logic isn't really cutting it for me.
Are you going to get a break in the weather up there or is it going to miss you, too? We've dropped into the 70s today, but it's supposed to be back up in the 90s tomorrow. |

Were supposed to be in the mid nineties tomorrow then back to 104°.
My cousin lives in Katy and she said it that right after Katrina there were stories in the news about gang fights in the schools between NO and Houston kids. She was rooting for the home team. |

If Merk gets hurricaned can I have his rain slicker?
I mean, it'll have to be cleaned after the frolicking and whatnot but a good slicker's hard to find... |

There definitely were - as if HISD doesn't have enough problems. Unfortunately, they also decided to send rival NO gangs to the same school, so that
didn't help matters.
We also got our first gang activity in Katy shortly after the Katrina people showed up - complete with gang graffiti. Hoodoo - you'll have to beat the looters to Merk's stuff, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you took his slicker. Just make sure he's dead - he has an itchy trigger finger. |

I'm sure the downpour will hose out Merkyl's slicker.
Can Merkyl's mom be used as a floatation device if it gets really bad? |

It's drizzling slightly in central LA as well.
How's Cameron parish holding up? I'm pretty sure there was a mandatory evacuation ordered. Greggo et al http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a25c39216aee6240116b0f682d4002d There's the epi. It's not working on my compy but I might just not have the plugin.
