I dunno, I'm conflicted about the whole dog as God idea. I'm thinking that one shouldn't have to scoop the poop of their deity.

dont care what anyone says i went to AA for over a year. its bullshit what they say about not needing to believe in god. it is AbSOLUTELY impossible to not
believe in god or a literal deity that you must give yourself to. trusttttt me on this.
anyone seeking help or have friends who need help but have trouble with the religious part should look into RR "Rational Recovery". its similar but much more realistic for the younger generations. http://www.rational.org/ |

lol Wtf I am not going to read any of that crap, it's a bunch of bullshit. There is no god. How is it impossible to not believe in god? I don't think
it's that impossible as I don't belive in god and I know many others dont believe in that make-believe man. You must be brainwashed.

Hey, charlie. I've been clean/sober for 12 years, NA and AA. I know atheists who have stayed clean/sober through NA or AA for over 35 years. I also know
plenty of the "younger generations" who have also been able to stay clean/sober through NA or AA. (Of course, for me, "younger generations"
would be anyone under 30.) You absolutely do NOT "have" to believe in God or a literal deity. As dmb pointed out, there is an entire chapter in the
Big Book devoted to just that subject.
If Rational Recovery is working for you, great. I'm not knocking what's working for you. But don't knock AA or NA just because you "think" there's a requirement to believe in God. There's not. At all. Period. Trusttttt me on this. |

The screen name that Foo uses everywhere except here is XXXX419. Her favourite line of the Big Book is on page 419 of her copy.
She believes in God usually, mostly, maybe even always. She says that spirituality has little to do with a deity. If Rational Recovery works, good! There is another AA alternative that focuses on women and has either 7 or 14 steps (I forget which). Congrats to all of our posters in Recovery, y'all are amazing. |
