1/4 Seventeenth-Century, Early American Scots-Irish (who are actually English Northumbrians and not Scotch or Irish at all) who founded the greatest Glass Artistry in America (second only to the Stubens) before WWII. He lied about his age (claiming to be born in 1889) to get out of WWI. (He was probably born in 1891, but who's counting?) As a teenager he picked up a book on Dentistry and set up shop as a Dentist in the Panama Canal Zone. (He was 14-15, working as a Dentist, pretending to have graduated Dental School!)

By the time my Mother was born he was 47-50? By the time I was born he was 73-77? Way too scary to have as a Grandfather, yet someone I'd love to have a conversation with as an adult.
