Bit of perspective: Rivers wasn't asked to carry his offense this year as much as Brees.

But I'd agree that he's slightly better.

I can't remember a season when the #1 seeds got as screwed by the opponents they had to face in the first round. The Titans reward for finishing #1 was to play the Ravens, probably the best defense in the league. And the Giants had to play the red-hot Eagles.

I don't think the rule should be changed to let the #1 seed pick their opponent, though. It would take away a lot of the unpredictability of the divisional round.
