I agree she isn't the brightest bulb, but she's learning to deal.

Sookie knows the vamps need her now so she really doesn't fear the ones she knows and thinks they will protect her.

She is the same on mine, too. Foolish decisions made over and over and over again = dumb as a bag of hair. |

What I would love even better is if the whole spoiler/not spoiler deal was a thing of the past and we just talked about the show in here. I have a dream.

PinotEnvy wrote: Yea, but the thing is the vamps, Eric specifically, are totally using her for their own selfish gain anyway, so why is it so bad for her to make sure she's protected and getting as much out of everything they're putting her through? I think that if Sookie wasn't the way she was, the vampires wouldn't respect her in the least. |

Agreed. Eric cares much more about figuring out the issue in Dallas than he does about killing Lafayette. I don't think, even when you add in the Bill
escort and the $10,000, that he's making much of a sacrifice compared to what he stands to gain.

I go back and forth on liking/not liking Sookie. I do like how Anna Paquin plays her. Sookie's pretty much the center of the TB universe, so she's
going to have to do some stupid things at times just to advance the plot. She can be quite childish in her relationship w/ Bill, as that article mentioned,
breaking up with him in seemingly every other episode. But then that sort of fits the character, as this is her first romantic relationship and it's with a
vampire at that, so it's rife with outside complications. Still, sometimes I just want to shake her.

GrenadeJumper85 wrote:I have no problem with her asking for things in return and some form of payment is definitely warranted, due to the fact that (like she said) she will be missing work at her regular job to do things for Eric & Co. However, it is the way in which she goes about it and the way she acts. In real life, she would be putting herself at risk acting that way with regular people, because there are a lot of people who lash out when their buttons are pushed. You gain respect by giving respect. Sookie can stand there and not back down or act like a cowering idiot when in their presence, but acting like a spoiled brat with name calling and snarky remarks doesn't gain you respect. Edited to add: Besides, just because she is a valuable asset to Eric now due to her ability, doesn't mean she will always be that valuable. She should realize that she may not be the only one who can read minds in the world and what will she do if Eric finds someone else like her? Only someone as dumb as a box of hair (is that the phrase?) would be so conceited to think they are indispensable.

^ I completely agree. I don't know what makes her feel so invincible, but she really needs to get her ass in check. I like Sookie, but I would have
laughed out loud if Eric gave her a beatdown when she threatened to go to the police.
And did anyone else notice the way Eric was staring at Sookie's bloody back when the doctor was finished with her? He sat there staring, with his mouth open a little and his fangs bared. It was hilarious....he so wanted a taste of that! |

She just found out that her friend had been kidnapped, shot, and systematically tortured for three weeks. And that was just hours after she was attacked by a mysterious monster and nearly died. Yeah, lashing out at Eric may not be the most rational thing she could have done, but why can he be hotheaded and not her? |

Please shut up your petty bitching. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't go on the Internet. If you open your door, expect to hear noise from the
outside world.

Actually, I thought Sookie acted relatively level-headed given the circumstances. She also might have thought on some level that she was a little to blame for
his capture. I mean, it is a coincidence that it was Eric who captured him. I thought she was rather fearless, plus she knows Bill would stick up for her. He
did kill a vamp for her before.
I want to see a scene between Mary Ann and Pam. Writers, can we arrange for this to happen? |

Drew B wrote:Lafayette getting held like that sucked for him, but considering that he was dealing V (among other illegal substances) and was the last known person to see Eddie alive, it's not like Lafayette is a poor innocent soul that was kidnapped by the big bad vampires for no reason. So, yeah, Sookie had a right to be upset that Lafayette was there and had reason to question Eric about it, but she needs to know her place. Basically, let's say we take out the vampire aspect and just equate all of this to a drug or other crime syndicate. Sookie has put herself into this situation willingly and chose to associate with all these people, so she should know how to behave accordingly and what to expect by now. If you are running with a dangerous crowd, you can expect to face danger at any time. As others have stated above, Sookie obviously has a very slow learning curve and low intelligence and for some of us, it is irritating. |

Did Sookie even know what stuff Lafayette has been doing, until that scene in the bar? It might've been too hard to believe or accept right away that
Lafayette had done sketchy stuff. It's not like Lafayette was bragging at Merlotte's about prostituting himself or selling drugs.

Shagnanigans wrote: Well, considering that Sookie seems to be functioning with half a brain, I suppose it's possible she had no clue about Lafayette's extracurricular activities. However, considering this is set in a very small town (and everyone knows everyone's business in small towns), that Sookie works with and is friends with Lafayette and that Sookie can read minds, I personally find it hard to believe that Sookie doesn't know what Lafayette does. Just another reason that Sookie is one stupid, stupid bitch. |

Sookie does make an effort to not read her friends' minds, but hmm yeah she probably should've picked up on the fact that Lafayette was doing something
all those months.

There is no way she wouldn't have picked it up from someone else if not Lafayette. She knew what he was doing, but is shooting someone, letting them almost
bleed to death and keeping them chained in a basement dungeon in their own filth the appropriate punishement for dealing drugs? I don't think Sookie would
have had a problem if Eric had called the cops on Lafayette

I think part of Sookie's invincible/idiotic behaviour comes from the fact that she's got Bill wrapped around her finger. She relies on him to protect
her, especially when he's standing there next to her in Eric's presence. He's done it before so she figures he's always going to do it.
