I would be content if MCH won for Best Actor and True Blood won for Best Series.
Or AP for Best Actress and Dexter for Best Series. Or a tie between True Blood and Dexter for Best Series. I don't ask for much - really. |

Just finished the last episode yesterday and really enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm more and more convinced that the twelve or thirteen episode form is
the way to give a series the best chance at maintaining quality throughout a season. I watched the show on demand in big chunks and it really flowed together
seamlessly - obviously with each episode picking up in the same scene as the last one helps a ton - but the feel from episode one to episode twelve was
completely in synch.
I think they do an amazing job of explaining their mythology very quickly but still leaving lots of cracks that can be filled in later. Not sure there's a character I don't like. Sam can be a bit dense at times. Speaking of dense, Jason is a trainwreck that keeps on giving. His redeeming qualities are a little tough to appreciate most of the time though. But I love Sookie and Bill, the whole vampire integration/segregation thing, Tara with her demon! and Lafayette is capable of owning a scene in at least three different ways. Is there any indication of whether or not the series is going to go its own way and keep him around? Please? Anyway, totally engrossing show and I'm glad it's a ratings hit for HBO and picked up some GG nods too. |

Did we all watch this in a marathon?
I finished last night and I'm working on the books. I was surprised how closely the episodes followed the books. I expected it to be used more as a template like gossip girls did. I'm loving it though. In a way it's better in series form because I don't have to read the horrid descriptions of the clothes she's wearing and the corny sex scenes. |

Just finished reading the books today, only takes a couple days to read them all. I liked the books, fun to read. I couldn't put them down but agree
about the idiotic sex scenes and outfit descriptions. I like Bill on HBO but I think he's kind of a boring douche in the books. Stephen Moyer definitely
brings more depth to the character.
