Dina was fucking awesome. She tore it up during the group audition and then must've sucked during her final audtion.

Leah?!?
I will remember this from now on. BTW, Suzy Vuluauauaucucuauca deserved to be in the Top 12. |

Ah, this discussion brings back so many memories. People were so upset about Lisa Loopner not being allowed to sing on wild card night (along with Erskine the
pimp, etc) that the OTHER fuckup that happened that week, Suzy "bride of Frankenstein" Vulaca being passed over in favor of Leah, has been mostly
forgotten. At least the whole fiasco resulted in the wildcard/semifinal format being scrapped. And I had totally forgotten about Dina Lopez and Gtoe
Washington. Plus there was Bree the dyke, scooter girl, scat girl, William Hung, the gorgeous (except for her nose) Katie Webber, and so on. There were so many
vivid personalities onscreen that season, and so little actual singing talent. What a combination.

I'm watching season 3 now on Fox (was on MyNetworkTV before). It's the first audition episode (missed the first 20 minutes). They had 2008 comments
from Scat Girl and Leah so far.
Oh, and specifically for RB, Leah>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnn |

Leah and Scooter Girl are both looking good.
And, poor, poor RB. If you choose to believe that, so be it. |

No surprise, but Ba Ba Booey looks exactly the same as he did when he crooned his way all the way to the top 6. I'm just looking forward to Hollywood. I
love the never before seen footage on Rewind. I really hope they have a 2008 interview with Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiira, the girl with no talent that got kicked
off in Hollywood (after Simon and Paula walked off during her audition and Randy sent her through) and then said it would be Trailer Park Idol (kind of ironic
seeing that Fantasia won).

Scooter Girl was the most overhyped contestant at that time.
I remember watching ET and they had a segment on her. I think she was featured in People's magazine too And when she didn't make the semis, people became livid. That was way back when America was overly fascinated with random AI rejects. |

I hope that once they get to Hollywood, they focus on the group round (I love seeing the performances they didn't show the first time) and the final
auditions. I want to see why certain contestants (Lakita, Dina, and Alan . . . I know he sucked, but he sucked the whole time; why cut him then?) didn't
make it.

Alan Richson was kept on for awhile because he was great looking and had charisma, and the judges kept hoping (in vain) that he would show some singing ability
as well. Given the almost nonexistant male singing talent that season, they had little to lose. Richson did set some kind of record for sleeping with more
female contestants the season than anybody else (except maybe Simon and Nigel). Scooter girl wasn't great, but IMHO she deserved to make the semis anyway.
Not only was she was incredibly hot looking, but she also had a better voice than some of the women who did (Kara Master Bates, Bree the dyke, Heather
Pickaninnie, Leah Labelle, Mantasia, etc). I don't know what went wrong with Dina Lopez - maybe she just couldn't take the pressure.

Yeah, I just want to see how bad Alan was for them to finally cut him. As for Dina, she has always been a mystery to me. Usually, they show a few good group
performances. Dina, Elizabeth, and Leah was the only group that really got all praise. And, I thought Dina was hands down the best. She must have really
bombed that final audition.

This week's 2008 interviews were Amy Adams and the Flashndance girl (she said she thought she'd make it to Hollywood, at least; I remember reading she
admitted to it all being a staged audition, but didn't indicate that in the interview; she said she was shocked when Simon asked her if the audition was
real). They showed Boomie, Alan, and an extended Fantasia audition. Before she sang "Proud Mary," she did "Killing me Shoftly."

I watched and taped every performance night of the 4th season except for top 12 guys night, which I missed when they unexpectedly aired it on a MONDAY night
(the new semis format, whiles vastly better than the old, still had a few bugs in it). So I need to see it this time, since I completely missed Judd Harris and
Jared Yates, who were never shown onstage before that night. Its kind of creepy to see them with the rest of the guys watching the girls the next night, since
it's the ONLY footage I have of them. I didn't see them dumped that wednesday either, when Melinda Lira famously went postal after her
"unexpected" (By who?? she sucked) voting off.

Yesterday's episode focused mostly on Carrie. I'm impressed that she's in the 2008 interviews, since she was a winner, and has an actual career.
I'm really hoping they show that first elimination. You have Melinda Lira's shock and calling out of the producers for giving her not airtime prior to
the semis, Sarah Mather's sing-out (possibly the best ever), and Judd's cruel elimination.

Nope. Best singout ever was Leslie Hunt (season 6, semis week 2). After being in the bottom with Jordin Sparks (!) and then eliminated, Leslie seemed to take
her [not unexpected] elimination easily and did a version of the Pussycat Dolls' "Feelin' Good" similar to her previous one until the end,
when she unexpectedly said/sang "Why did I decide to scat? America don't like jazz.." just as she was cut off. The show could go 20 more seasons
without anybody ever topping this!
