Do you like speaking in public? |

I had to do this today, I hate it. I'm not really a shy person, but I am not comfortable with public speaking.

It's not something I dread, but I don't go out of my way to do it.
I'm not really shy so I've never had any big freak outs about it. |

Public speaking is most people's number one fear, so yes, many people hate it.

Doesn't bother me.
But I do hate watching someone who is afraid of public speaking stutter and stammer and sweat out the ordeal. I want to leave. Because it's so embarassing to watch. |

I avoid it at all costs. My work keeps asking me if I'll teach some classes to new nurses and I always have to say, "Sorry, but I don't speak in
front of groups."
Other than heights, I can't think of anything that scares me more than speaking in public. Well, maybe the thought of Matt Hasselbeck getting hurt, but let's not go there. |

I hate it, but I'm very good at it, so people ask me to do it lots, which builds up the anxiety.

It doesn't bother me. Any audience should be honored to hear me speak. |

I failed Public Speaking freshmen year of college, so no I do not in fact like speaking in public.

I hate it and took a class about becoming more comfortable. One thing I learned is not to use filler words like "um" or "uh". I count them
now when people give speeches.

I tend to wear low cut shirts and just keep my fingers crossed they are staring at my chest and ignoring the bullshit thats coming out of my mouth.

I've done it plenty but I hate it.
The key is to remember that odds are no one in the room knows more about what you are speaking about than you do. When that's not the case, it can be terrifying! |

This was one of those networking meetings. Everyone gets 60 seconds to talk. One woman loved the sound of her own voice and yammered on and on, I can't
remember a thing she said.

I am good at public speaking, it doesn't bother me at all but I dont go out of my way to volunteer. But usually people from work and friends volunteer for
me.

LaurenTheLush wrote: That may be the best public speaking strategy I've ever heard. I'll never volunteer to do it, but its not as bad as it once was. Although I still prefer when I actually know what the fuck I'm talking about.
