I hope to God that Jerry doesn't say something like "I hope that movie about faggots doesn't win" when he goes up there.

I hope he does. I just finished watching FAR FROM HEAVEN, Seagay. It was very melodramatic/50's style. Was she pregnant when she made that? She looked a little thick in the middle. |

That would be pretty funny wouldn't it? I wouldn't put it past the senile old coot.
Woohoo you saw it! I believe Julianne was pregnant during the filming. Did you like it or at the very least like her performance? She was exquisite! And I hate that word! |

Yes, she was very good. I liked the movie. The styling was wearing a little thin by the end but I appreciated the effort it took to make it that way and it
was fun to see something different. Viola Davis as the maid was unexpected, as were Dennis Quaid's hot abs--I had forgotten how hot he used to be.

They're muting the "montage of death" this year, so there won't be the usual disparity in applause for the more famous celebs vs the less
famous celebs.
I'm sad in a way. This was always the tackiest TV moment of the year. |

Carboys Desire wrote:Glad you liked it and liked her performance. :) I haven't seen it for awhile. It's pretty funny that Viola is in it. I'm looking forward to the Oscars this year since I've seen some of the performances and movies nominated. It seems like just about every year lately there isn't much that I care about that is nominated. And the hopes of seeing Kate win her first Oscar is exciting. |

OH NO... Mickey Rourke's 18 year old Chihuahua just died (the one he thanked!). He's devastated. I wonder if 'that' will change the votes for
best actor. Hollywood is amazing when it comes to pitfalls and comebacks and sad departures! RIP..lil' one.

Votes were due in before she died. It's all good.
Besides, would people really sway their vote over a dead dog? |

Yes, yes they would..Chihuahuas are big money in the movie industry... they made an entire film about them..MY LORD, they are gold.

Anyone set up a Sucks Oscar pool yet? The only site I've found with one is the official Oscar site and the game is a poorly designed mess.

I set up one a few pages back, Glebe. If anyone's interested that might've missed it, here's the link to the post: Oscar prediction game
If the link doesn't work for you or something, it's post #1055 (on p.53 if you see 20 posts a page). Basically, you can rank the nominees for more points or you can go all-or-nothing and just pick one winner for each category like normal Oscar pools. |
