If it were up to me the show would last all day long. I love it. All of it. I couldn't care less about ratings. If only 7 people watched I'd be OK.

Penelope winning makes the advertising for "Nine" possibly even more ridiculous Ugh, Kate Hudson is going to be in that? I might have to pass now. Also, I didn't know that Anthony Minghella died. The In Memorium segment was ridiculous. I couldn't even read half the names because the camera was all over the place. They could have just had it on the screen with Queen Latifah singing over, we didn't need to see it from the (in-house) audience's POV. Preliminary numbers from Sunday's Academy Awards telecast show that ratings have ticked up a little from last year's historic low More tween/Disney fucks, chaotic dance numbers, and cheap Hollywood "feuding". I had to laugh when on some entertainment show they said that Jennifer Aniston was showing John Mayer "her world". |

I wish the Oscars were 12 hours long and gave awards to casting, lighting, craft services, best grip, movie poster, etc etc.

I want to say how much I've enjoyed posting in and reading this thread this year - you guys are awesome! Now, I'm going to do my own Best and Worst
Dressed at the Oscars countdowns. Here we go:
Best Dressed #6 - Penelope Cruz - Nice hair, tasteful jewelry and a vintage-style dress
#5 - Angelina Jolie - Does she ever not look good? Basic black
#4 - Freida Pinto - Love the color and the one arm sleeve. And, oh, yeah - Chin. Mouth. OK already! :p
#3 - Halle Berry - Love the diagonally spiraling fabric
#2 - Marisa Tomei - Dazzlingly linear
#1 - Anne Hathaway - Sparkling and stunning
Worst Dressed #6 - Bridget Fonda - Ugly design and color. Unflattering
#5 - Philip Seymour Hoffman - I wouldn't include a guy on either countdown unless he looked really good, bad or unique (since guy's fashions tend to be so boring). Well, Hoffman qualifies with his awful head covering and dyed blonde/orange eyebrows. His black-on-black clothing didn't help matters either
#4 - Reese Witherspoon - Oh Lordy Reese. The colors are nice, but not put together in that way. And who was the designer - Pollock, Picasso, Garcia, or a combination of the three? It looks half tye-dyed and half put together by an 8 year old with bad eyesight. And it makes her look pudgy when she's not
#3 - Whoopi Goldberg - What, is she trying out for a part in the Lion King? But at least with her I get the feeling she at least knows she's not wearing something awe-inspiring, which saved her from the #1 spot
#2 - Tilda Swinton - Atrocious. But like Whoopi, I get the feeling she knows a bunch of people will hate what she's wearing and she's just like "Whatever bitches I'll do what I want", which barely saved her from #1 as well
#1 - Melissa Leo - Sorry Melissa! I really liked your performance and wish you had dazzled us with your Oscar attire, but my goodness. You're breathtaking in the wrong way! The color! The hair! This is not an audition for "Creature From The Burnt Sienna Lagoon"!

Yeah, Miley's dress wasn't great but I don't think it was so bad, definitely not as bad as the others listed.

I thought it was pretty hideous. Looked like something from It's a Small World. |

Melissa did look hidious in the dress.... it's horrible.
Tilda's problem isn't her clothes, it's her make up :/

Hey. Not a bad idea. Have a "Best Caterer" award with a ceremony-long contest with the nominees cooking up their best in side-stage kitchens. Instead
of "Best picture" for the final award, have the main winners decided who wins the catering competition by tasting the food. If course, the co-hosts
for the entire Awards show would then have to be Tom and Padma.

I think Phillip Seymour Hoffman looks fine -what else is he supposed to do? He's filming a part right now and his hair and eye brows are dyed for it. It
is afterall how he makes his living.

I actually thought Tilda Swinton looked great. She goes for far-out high fashion looks and she can usually wear them because of her Nordic features. Look,
at least she's not wear a bag or a sail.
