Make sure you get a Mexican. They work hard for cheap and they dont care what you got hidden in your drawers, trust me.

I only know one person in my group of friends who does not have a service -- every cleaning lady around here is Polish.

As I have said our cleaning lady is a friend of ours and I think she is having an affair with my husband. So I am glad she washes the sheets...and she does a
good job, so as long as I don't have to do it, who the fuck cares.

While we're on the subject of cleaning, anybody got suggestions for some really kick-ass window/glass cleaner? A couple of my outside windows on the river
side have a bit of a cloudy film that I haven't been able to get off completely with regular stuff. I think it's from the salt water or something. I
was thinking of just getting some really hot water and cleanser and seeing if that helped, but they're big and if there's something easier, that would
be great.

hammy, hubby's got this industrial stuff in his plumbing van that will eat paint off of glass pretty much.
I'll find out the name tonight, IF you fess up to your real ident. |

I want an Amish housekeepie like my parents had when I was growing up but there are none around here. Do you think a regular housekeepie would dress Amish and
clean my house?

My cleaning lady uses vinegar and lukewarm water, a squeegee and newspapers. Don't do them when it's hot and sunny outside.

Will Amish housekeepers use electric appliances, like the vacuum cleaner and washer/dryer? If so, are they really Amish?

People clean their own homes? Oh you mean in third world countries, right?

Yes they will use them. They will also take advantage of their "English home" time by catching up on their soaps.

Thanks, PeePee. That'd be great. You too, Nekey. I might have to try that as well.

Hmm... so I take it that they are Amish-lite then and not those really hardcore Amish people?

Illegals work real cheap. Be sure to lock up valuables.
Anyway I don;t dirty up the place to merit hiring one. |

It really depends on the order/community they are with, but generally, they can use, but they can't personally own. The ones where I live are not the
hardcore old order type.

I wish I could have an Amish cleaning lady - my old cleaning lady stopped cleaning houses and I need to find a new one. I seriously doubt that I'll be able
to find an Amish one though and I really don't want to use a service.

Our Amish housekeepie was new school. She even drove on some days but most days buggied it with 2 other Amish housekeepies. Then they'd clean up the whole
neighborhood.
