While they're waiting to show the swimming, why the hayell can't NBC take, I dunno, 5 minutes here and there out of showing this long-ass race to give us some coverage of the. many. other sports (aside from other track n field) events that are also happening/have happened today. It looked to me like Torres touched first. Still, I can't believe the hype surrounding her lived up. Amazing.

All in all, I'm just crazy impressed... Torres swam like mad. And she seems like a nice person too- the schadenfreudenista in me always wishes (just a little bit) that people like that would be so easy to hate, or would suck, or something. Otherwise, where can I get my schadenfreude on? Well, I guess I just have to like Dara Torres & be happy for her instead. Bravo Dara!

Shut up. NBC is doing a GREAT job on the Olympics- by far the best of any I have watched. They finally got it right! Marathon all the way through? They broke away several times, but kept to it so people can really get the feel of the nature of the competition. Should sweep the Emmys. ALSO.. they just announced a DVD of the four hour opening ceremony. Another great move, and I am buying mine right now!

I can't shake the feeling that it's been easy for them with all the swimming being on at 10AM Peking time. Now that they've got to deal with track & field in the evening, are they going to keep up their streak, or pull crap like they did today with withholding the big events until primetime... like they did with the 100m today. I'm seriously pissed about this. Here it is 11PM, the race was run 11 hours ago, and it STILL hasn't been broadcast in the USA. Wow. Dara Torres is class immortal. You could tell how much all the other chicks love her, too. Awright, here we go on the

I read on the olympics website that the final match will play at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, so that will be 12 hours earlier on the west, and 9, 10 hours earlier on the east coast. Go Venus and Serena! Hope they win.
