And yes, I was a gymnast & coach in a former life which is why I know all this crap.

For the record, the breakdancers got that move from gymnasts, not the other way around. It started as the Thomas Flare named after Kurt Thomas- the Olympic
gymnast who made it popular in the 70's & 80's. (he was cute!). :)

I'm so happy for the US men, but they desperately need a pommel coach.

I am NOT happy that this hot piece Marian Dragalescu was performing and they didn't show him or anything from Romania.
They didn't even show the first two events for our guys. BOO! This page shows who qualified for the all-around final and the individual apparatus finals. For the U.S. it is Jonathan Horton in all-around and high bar, and Alexander Artemev in all-around and pommel horse |

Speaking of gymnastics, I'm just happy that Hamm guy, just about the fugliest person in the whole world, is not on my TV this time. |

Iif a competitor has absolutely no indication they've hit puberty I am pretty sure that in any culture they are not 16. Even wee, stunted female gymnasts.
I don't agree that if someone is capable of competing at an earlier age they should do it. Lowering the age limit puts an extraordinary amount of pressure on all youth athletes who aspire. As a parent, I can say that one of the things wrong with society today is giving in to kids who don't want to wait for things targeted/mandated for older kids. Like my 10 year old who wants to watch Family Guy. (Um, no, sorry bud.)(Don't tell him I find the show generally hysterical--shhhh) If they don't enforce the age minimum in gymnastics they might as well show those events on Nick. |

No age limits. Period.
And if some kids breaks their neck and becomes a paraplegic at twelve, well, so what? Better than get getting fat on potato chips and watching TV all the time. That's what I think. |

his looks, I really did love him as a gymnast. I wonder if he's competing in any individual events.

I love that our mens team was happier about winning bronze than the Japanese team was with their silver. They looked pissed!!

The Japanese were upset because they were supposed to be the Gold winners coming into the games, and they did poorly for 2nd.

The Chinese coach promised to jump off the tallest skyscraper in Beijing if he didn't bring home the gold. And I don't think he was kidding. He must
feel glad to be alive today.

Yay huge day for the women's soccer team. Since they randomly lost to Norway, they went into today not favored to win their group. Meaning that they would
have been on the side of the draw with Brazil and Germany and would have had to beat BOTH just to get into the Gold Medal final. However, US dominated and won
4-0 and Norway lost. We won the pool despite losing to them because we have more goals <3. So now we have an easy bracket and are basically cruising into
the Gold medal final <3!
