Sorry for bumping this page that has that stupid video embedded, but am I the only one who is going to admit that I went and saw it? I fucking loved it. Same contrived story and same ABBA songs, but it was such a different experience than when I saw it on the stage in Vegas just last December. I thought it was a yawn then (and I really wanted to like it). There was just such JOY in the upbeat song performances. I was grinning from ear to ear during Dancing Queen and the angst was palpable during The Winner Takes it All. Streep is, as usual, a fucking marvel. She's almost 60 and she was bouncing around like a 25 year old. I can't even imagine how difficult it is to keep up that energy take after take. The production values were so excellent, some of the best I've ever seen. I didn't know this, but Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are the executive producers. Pierce and Colin were just a bit embarrassing and I couldn't for the life of me place who the third guy was 'til the credits. Stellen Skaarsgard. He was a bit better, but he didn't have to sing much. So if you can tolerate ABBA songs, like feel-good upbeat movies, and can kind of ignore the story, go see it!

And yeah, I know, kill myself.

Every part was mis-cast. EVERY PART. The only one that did a decent job was Amanda Seyfried as the daughter (the one getting married).

Meryl Streep.............sucked.
Christine Whatever..............sucked.
Pierce Brosnan............................sucked THE MOST!

And everyone else was just blah.

Worthless, piece of shit movie.


I saw the stage show and it was way better than this, but that's not really saying that much either.

You LIKED Winner Takes It All??????? OMG, when that song started I wanted to stab myself in the ears and eyes. I was so done and were it not for the fact that I didn't drive and needed a ride home I would have left right then and there.
