Plus since the concept of the game is you're locked away from the rest of society I wish the accomdadations were more truthful as to what it REALLY is like-meaning jail. Then maybe loud mouthed Renny or whatever her name is would be raped and shit. Plus didn't they say she was a SOCIALITE? What social circle would want some loudmouthed beauty shop owner? And what kind of clients would want to be serviced by someone so annoying and unattractive? Socialite, my ass. Grandpa's voice is very, very old sounding even if the rest of him is under 75, to a degree. Hated the upside down car contest and can not emphasize enough how much I hate John DeMol who went and got some kind of psychology degree and instead of using it to help people, trots out this mind control game playing power trip crap. What I'd really like to see is a season of Big Brother with nothing but current White House operatives-then the world would see how evil each and every one of them actually are. They're the kind of people who would have denied Tony Snow radiology treatments if it meant an extra dinner roll for them.

And they had a lot less time to assemble the cast than they have in years past. I think having no pre-existing relationships in the house has freed them up to cast only the best people they can find. So many of the shitty houseguests in the past were only there because they had a relationship with someone more interesting (for example, Danielle or ManBearPig). I've not been this excited after one episode of Big Brother in a long time.

Imo season 8 started off slow and picked up steam after the kail eviction. Season 9 started off strong with the parker/jen/amanda drama but once matt and james left the entertainment factor went down. I hate that CBS did not start off this season sooner because going up against the MLB all star game will hurt things.

But in every couple there was one more interesting player that was clearly the one they actually wanted. Ivette, Janelle, April, Eric, Howie, and James were the ones they wanted, with Beau, Ashlea, Jen, Maggie, Rachel and Sarah coming along as extra. Now obviously Jen, Rachel and Maggie all proved their worth in their ways, but they weren't dynamite casting. Only in the Michael/Kaysar pairing is it difficult to discern who was cast first, or who the producers thought would be more interesting.

Season 8 was BY FAR the worst season evah, IMO, because the America's Player twist obliterated any real strategy. If not for that, the Donatos would have been out early, and the whole game would have turned out completely different! They played a SHITTY game by alienating everybody, and the only reason they lucked into lasting was because Eric had no choice but to act against his own self-interest. It'll be hard to beat 2 and 3, though. We will see.
