Buddy Jewell - Nashville Star 1




The family man who had spent most of his life in Nashville doing backup vocals and writing music for country stars, yet struggling to make enough money to support his wife and kids. We first saw Buddy in T.EARS after making it to the top 12, on the phone with his wife saying how much he loved her. A few of the judges were skeptical at first, that Buddy wasn't current enough, I mean the guy had a mullet. But after a makeover it was Buddyownage from then on out, he blew everybody away with his spectacular vocals and his great original songs. One of my favo moments ever in reality tv was when he sang a song called Lacey's Song to his daughter, it was such a beautiful tune and watching his daughter in the audience being so moved by the performance was a amazing thing. The whole top 3 of that season was amazing, Miranda Lambert came out being the most successful despite coming in 3rd place. And my favorite John Arthur Martinez came in second and I stand by the fact to this day that he is the ebst contestant ever to be on that show. But Buddy won and it was probably a good thing he did cause it's nice to see the nice guy win in the end.

Park Gillespie - American Candidate




It would be such a revelation to me if just one of you said you had watched this show. Cause I honestly don't know of anyone who has. Even when it was airing, I made the thread in OSTS and I think it only ever got 3 replies. And that's sad too cause it was a amazing show. It was on Showtime when the last general election was happening, and it took 12 aspiring politicians and sent them out on presidential type assignments. And what was good was, they actually voted each other off. As you all know, politics is one of the most highly argued issues, so for a show with such intelligent people, there were some huge fights and a lot of drama. My favo was Park, we was a Public school History teacher who was devout in his love for the Lord and whose main point was being against abortion. All of which I agree with whole heartedly. Park was very much a underdog on this show, cause every other republican went back to back, until it was down to him and 5 Democrats. However then Park went on a Terry Deitz like immunity run, cause with all the Democrats, they were splitting the votes in the immunity challenges. While Park got all the republicans and ran away with it. In the final 2 he gave a heartfelt speech that I got goosebumps from and the America viewers had no choice but to crown him the winner. He truly was a inspiration and I wish the show would come back for a second season this year.

Earl Cole: Survivor: Earl Island...ummm I mean Fiji

I will never understand the Earl haters, you finally get a true mastermind of Survivor again and no one will admit to it. Earl pwnt everybody on his season and still found time to narrate it beautifully and get about 10 epic helicoptor shots. The arguments that he was lucky always confuse me so much. First off, the guy had never even seen the show, which usually I would hold against him. But the fact that he played it so well just showed that he had a knack for the game, he was a Survivor prodigy. He used Yau Man as his closest ally much like Hatch used Rudy, all plans went through Earl and people were always checking if things were ok up until the final 5 when they had to do something. Despite losing his other cloest ally in Michelle, Earl just kept right on fighting like nothing even happened. Most people would have shriveled up and died after having a awful twist like that ruin them, but not Earl. And strategy aside, Earl was just a great character. Not too OTT but very likable and charming, and he gave half the money to his mom on mother's day. How can you not love that?

Frankie & Erika (Red Team) - Endurance 4




The highest ranked Endurance team, I loved these two. Frankie was the quick witted, nerdy kid with a thick New York accent and Erika was the toughest girl the show had ever seen, who even all the guys were afraid of. Together they made for one of the best teams of all time. Frankie won me over early, in his audition video he chose to show his collection of action figures and how they could go together to become one HUGE action figure. Also in the first episode he would add witty lines like "Oh Snap" and "DOH" to add to his colorfulness. Erika was dull for a while, but then she started winning challenges...like all the challenges. Challenges where she was up against guys much stronger than her yet still beat them easily.�Leaving Frankie to watch in amazement. It wasn't till the final 2 when Frankie finally got to prove himself in a challenge and show Erika that he would keep up. They handily defeated the purple team (who were my 2nd favos btw) in the final 2 and became the winners of season 4. Endurance is another show I truly hope isn't done for good, but it probably is

Kurt Nilsen - World Idol




I said i wouldn't be using any foreign Idol shows, so im not counting his Norwegian Idol win but only his World Idol win...which was such a revelation for me. Before World Idol I really only knew of American and Canadian Idol. I had never taken the time to learn about other countries and their competitions. But after World Idol I was hooked on every show around the world. Cause it turns out, a lot of them have a lot more talent than America. And Norway is one of the main ones, despite being on season 1, Kurt probably still has the best voice in Idol history. He truly has the voice of an angel...despite as Dicko so eloquently put it....looking like a Hobbit. Everyone and their dogs thought Kelly Clarkson had the show wrapped up, she was already famous the world over and the whole show was just a platform to make her even more famous. But then Kurt came on and blew the world away with his take on Beautiful Day. And the next night, to the shock of millions, Kurt won, leaving Yelly agasp at the fact that she could ever lose anything. It was truly a delightful night and I will never forget it. Kurt totally deserved to win.
