#10 Will vs Hardy & Nicole (BB2)



This legendary rivalry is the only one on my list from a season I missed. Chilltown vs The Other People (TOP) gave us the first house divided on BB, with the hip media whores of Chilltown battling the self-described ordinary people. At first Chilltown was disliked by fans and deciminated in the house. Hardy evicted Will's girlfriend Shannon, and she used his toothbruth to clean the toilet. Boogie and Krista followed soon after, leaving Will alone the face the HOH comp domiinating couple of Hardy and Nicole.

Hardy nommed Will in all 3 of his HOHs: "An HOH without putting up Will would be like Christmas without presents." The third time he got Will to promise not to nom him if he won HOH, but Will threw it so Monica could put up the power couple. Will then evicted Hardy while Nicole was virtually having a nervous breakdown.

Outcome: Nicole made the classic error of taking the mastermind in goats clothing to F2. Will won with support from Chilltown allies others that Hardy\Nicole betrayed. Will became the smart underdog that people rooted for, the Richard Hatch of BB. However, he likely would have been gone at F4 if they had the veto back then, with Hardy or Nicole winning F4 veto and evicting him just as Janelle did in ASS.


#9 Rob Mariano vs Lex & Tom (ASS)



Amber & Rob (Summer 2003)



Big Tom takes Rob on the family visit, only to have Rob insislt his son and call him a dumbass. That struck a nerve, the hog farmer was pissed.

Now for a rivalry that destroyed pregame friendships and led to lasting bitetrness between Romber and the Boran Boys. Going into ASS, Lex, Tom, and Kathy thought they had a pregame alliance with Rob, while he had a huge chip on his shoulder against the stars. We saw this first in how he treated Rob C and made jealous comments about "pretty boy" Ethan.

Things really got nasty when Amber got switched and Rob promised Lex "If you take care of her, I'll take care of you." And "take care" of Lex he did, booting him at the merge and laughing about how he "snaked him" with his brother on the family visit. Big Tom thought he had a F3 deal with Romber, but he got blindsided at F5, giving Rob the death stare as he walked off. The "stupid, stupid people" had missed their last chance to break up Romber, even though the couple were the best two performers in challenges, just went on reward together, and both won a car.

Outcome: Lex and Tom both voted for Amber, giving her the 4-3 win. The best moment was when Tom faked Rob out on a handshake, after Rob had gone back on so many handshake deals in the game. But Romber's engagement and marriage made the jury vote and their bitterness completely moot. Rob did beat the system after all. Funny, Lex voted for the assistant coach after losing out himself to Ethan in Africa, and chauvinist Tom voted for the girl to win.
