Second, Janelle\Friendship and Eliza\Twout as best examples of rivalries which ran through a whole season. Third, Jerri\Colby and Parvati\Jonathan as good rivalries that carried over into ASS seasons, the latter having a huge impact on the Faves. with the Sovs vs Friendshit being #1, with Kelly/Sue/Rich, coming in 2nd, Jen vs Donatos in 3rd, and then Eliza vs Scout/Twila or Terry vs Casaya as the 4th choice. RVS, glad you agree with 3/4. Could someone well-versed in Borneo fill me on on exactly when Sue vs Kelly got going? They began as friends. The rivalriy seems confined to the late episodes and then exploded in Sue's jury speech. What the hell was the big issue? As it ASS, wasn't it largely Sue being a raving bitch and blowing things way out of proportion? And Danni vs Nakum being in the group but Chris vs women from Vanuatu isn't is a joke. I hate them both but they have the same story and Chris actually fought one more person. And Parvati vs Eliza is a joke. It wasn't really focused on in but like 2 episodes It's Danni's Alliance vs Judd\Jamie. So it includes Judd vs Margaret and Booby Jon vs Jame etc. And sweet boring Danni got Rafe to trun on Judd and avenge his betrayal of her tribe. Chris, the secret of his success was to avoid rivalries and be non-threateneing. Be friendly will all the women. Let Twila verbalize the plan for the powershift that is your dream scenario and that only yo can execute. So ultimately he replaced Ami as the person in the "sweet spot" between the old and young women. His main rivalry story was getting revenge on Julie, who betrayed New Lopevi at the merge. But since Juie was somewhat UTR it wasn't played up. Still, I can see a case for Sovs vs Kelly vs Rich being a bit higher, maybe #11, and Chris vs Women\Julie making the list near the bottom. Posts: 11685 (07/30/08 1:57 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Kelly vs. Sue was based on Kelly being wishy-washy with the alliance and playing to win favor with the Pagongs that would make up most of the jury. The feud actually didn't kick in fully until the very end of the game (F5ish); a few scenes were shown out of context earlier than they actually occurred. I would actually put the main feud as Sue vs. Rich, simply because it crossed two seasons and had varying degrees of intensity. It moved from Sue's secret plan to overthrow Rich to begrudging respect to...sexual abuse. I don't really think anything could really top the Sovs vs. Friendship though, just based on fan reaction and how extreme it was throughout almost the entire season. That rivalry was that season. I actually don't have a problem with Jenna/Christy being so high, as biased as the write-up was. I could justify it at #2, really, because even though fan reaction mostly favored Christy, how many Survivor moments raised more ire than Jenna and the letter? The only real head-scratcher for me is Danni's alliance vs. Steph's alliance. Two different alliances does not necessarily a rivalry make. There was a strategic split but other than Jamie being a dick in the merge episode, it never really seemed like an intense battle the way most of the others did. I'd have liked to see Jamie vs. Bobby Jon on here. They're another one that transformed over the season, from getting in each others' faces at challenges to Jamie flaunting his majority to BJ calling him white trash to their handshake after Jamie gave up his meal at the next RC to their mutual Steph hate making them buddies on the jury. Great work Craig, it was a cool read.

It started with Sue/Kelly/Rich making the alliance and Sue/Kelly dealing behind Rich's back to get rid of him at the end. There was always this little feud between Sue and Rich because Rich saw her as a dumb hick and she saw him as a pompous ass, but they worked together because they knew they needed each other. Then it all blew up when Kelly started becoming too friendly with the Pagongs, causing Sue to turn on Kelly and then it became Rich/Sue vs Kelly, and it culminated in the epic jury showdown where Sue showed her true colors in hating both of them, and the nasty tongue lashing she gave Kelly made it an epic feud. And then of course it continued into All-Stars where it was more of a friendly rivalry until Rich rubbed Sue naked and caused that blowout. Honestly, it's one of the top feuds ever. It started in the beginning of the season and Sue managed to start off fucking around with Kelly by voting Sonja instead of Rudy at the first vote, and yet ended up then working with her and Rich to later just keep the blood boiling. Light years ahead of feuds you listed like Parvati/Eliza, Jenna/Heidi vs Christy, and Danni vs New Nakum.

Jenna and Heidi worked on Christy hardcore to get her to come to their side. Christy, not being that good a player, couldn't make up her mind and stupidly blabbed about that fact. Rob then felt insecure due to that, and offered Heidi onscreen and presumably offscreen in a scene not aired Jenna the choice of voting out Christy instead, which was definately in their best interest since Christy in all likelyhood was not gonna vote with them, and certainly was questionnable for him, and in the end cost him the game due to Jenna's immunity run. I would recommend from a credibility standpoint fixing the write up to include how it was supposed to be. ;) IIRC, Heidi did all the talking, Jenna didn't at all. I vaguely remember Jenna saying she knew Christy hated her, so she let Heidi talk or something like that. You're right. I'm giving Jenna too much credit. My bad. Will craig admit that? :P

This list is very self-indulgent and plays to Craigss own preferences.

If I remember it correctly, her sorority was among the most pro-wymen out there). Matt would have probably CRUSHED Jenna if ALL prejury-boot made it. I would say that Roger, Ryan, Daniel Lu, Jeanette and possibly Joanna would vote for Matt. Only Shawna seems like a sure bet to vote for Jenna.

She received votes from her tribemates at every TC until she was finally booted. She was "ostracized" according to some, and didn't get along with anyone sans Jake and Ken, the only people that she needed to get in good with in order to survive SJ so long. Fake merge is where the rivalry climaxed.

That rivalry hit off right off the bat when Sook Jai bashed Jed, Steph, and Robb for being lazy while Shii was fighting with Robb about camp life. Sook Jai couldn't deal with Jed and Steph not doing anything, so that they were even willing to throw the challenge to get rid of one of the strongest challenge competitors ever. Then, they still outcasted Steph by making her paint the entire dumby herself. Robb was pissed off at Ken because they had a deal to watch out for each other, yet they voted against each other every round eventually leading to their blow out with each other. Shii was still fighting with Robb over stupid shit like eating their bananas, but others were getting involved like Ken. (which was right before the blowout). Eventually Robb came to his senses, but it wasn't before he and Shii's relationship escalated especially with his voting confessional of, "Sorry girl, you get on my nerves and I don't like being around you. Nothing personal." At that point where Robb had left, everyone (except Ken) was starting to gang up on Shii Ann as Shii Ann and Ken bashed the hell out of Penny. The rivalvy ended after the fake merge where Shii had been screwed over by a twist with even Ken mad that she was starting to turn on them. That's just a little bit why it should've been ranked (especially over things like Parvati and Eliza, Danni vs Jamie/Judd). Same thing goes for Clay vs Helen (Ted never hated him that much until the racism thing) Clay vs Helen started in episode two where Clay was complaining with Ghandia about Helen being too bossy, while Helen complained about Clay being lazy and someone who looks down on women. (Ghandia and Tanya voted for Helen that round). Next episode, Grindgate happened, and Helen and Clay were on opposing sides since it was guys vs girls, yet the girl's target was still Clay over Ted because Helen thought he was sexist. Episode 4, Helen was scared of the purple rock (or her alliance with Brian was greater than Ghandia, but I think it was the first), so she joined Clay and the guys to vote off Ghandia. From then on, they kept bashing each other, all the way to the final 5 where Helen and Ted tried to get rid of Clay. Clay obviously stayed "backstabbed" Helen (I use that term lightly cause they never liked each other), then we saw Helen go off on both Clay and Helen where Clay gives the greatest response to any jury question by basically telling her to fuck off since he's not getting her vote anyways. (This is the only rivalry where I liked both sides, besides Varner vs Mike which I also don't know why it's there, but it definitely deserves to be on a top 20 list.) And I know you didn't list Ted vs Ghandia/Bobby Jon vs Jamie/Varner and Mike/Tom vs Sue, but all of them would probably make mine. Ted and Ghandia had the biggest fued in Survivor history by far. If you're counting it out since it only lasted 2 episodes, that's crazy since Parv and Eliza was only two episodes. There is no need to explain what happened because if you've seen it, you'd know why it should be on any fueds list. Varner vs Mike was 100% one sided with just Jeff making fun of Mike and his spear, so I guess I understand why it didn't make the cut. It's still much better than a few that were listed. And then his delusions that if it weren't for Mike's accident, Mike would've been voted out at the next TC because apparently Varner was the puppet master of Kucha. It's 7 years later, and I still find that funny.

Well Shii was also close to Jake, but yeah she was closest to Ken. I don't remember Jake joining in on the Shii gang-up, mostly Penny/Erin/Steph/Jedd/Rob. I'm not 100% if Helen was going to go through with it, but she definitely was plotting against him that's why during Helen's FTC question, Brian was saying how Jan told him that Ted and Helen were plotting against him in the sand which was the reason why he voted for Helen. (I think that was pure BS about Jan lying, but Helen admitted that she was plotting against Clay and not Brian) honestly? I swear I thought they were plotting against BOTH Brian and Clay, because post-interviews said that had Jan and Helen actually had a brain, they would have teamed up against Brian. Yeah, Helen ultimately stayed loyal to Brian, but just like Katie (who is so underrated it's ridic) she plotted against her F2 partner, and was actually willing to follow through. It just never came to fruition. Helen <3 btw.
