Rating: CP3N
In my mind, CPN is the perfect rating for Dan. He had quite a few negative moments, and even during the strategical ones the negativity in his edit was clear. His comments of "not being a peace and love guy" were certainly meant to paint him in a negative light. He was shown openly laughing at the Renny/Jessie conflict and called himself 'sinister' in the Diary Room. On top of that, he commented that he would do things in the house that would require confessional afterward.
The CP comes in during his thoughtful moments. He commented that he did not want to win the car, because it would have put a target on his back. He also immediately pinned Brian as "someone he could do damage with" and that he (Brian) would be "useful" to him. As soon as Jerry became the Head of Household, Dan commented that he would have to work Jerry to get who HE wanted put up on the block. And of course, he went to work forming a 3 way alliance with Brian and Ollie.
His edit was clearly negative, but I wouldn't say there was enough there for it to be OTTN. He might be CP4N, but the Jessie/Renny conflict and the Brian/Jerry talk overshadowed Dan's plotting.
SPV:
Interestingly enough, even though Dan's edit was negative, he got little to no SPV. Jerry called him a "loose cannon" but that was about it. Not even Brian or Ollie, who he formed an alliance with, gave him SPV in the Diary Room.
